Me and my buddy installed a MSD 6al in my 1980 Camaro computer controlled carb. When the msd box is installed the check engine light stays on when the car is started. The installation diagram that we used was supplied on the MSD site. We have tried to troubleshoot the problem by checking the grounds. But when the msd box is not installed the check engine light does not go on when the engine is started. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

 

Something you might want to check in to is MSD makes something called a tach adapter. It is supposed to adapt MSD ignitions to tachs and computer controlled cars that are not compatable.
