car wont start
So I finally got everthing to wher it should work and i even got my car to run for about 10 seconds but then it dies. Anyone think of what I may be missing. I am 99% sure that my pistons are getting spark etc. at the right time. Seems that I am not getting the gas delivered well. The fule filter has a bit of gas in it but never full. Its a new holley mechanicle fuel pump. The motor is a 350 I never had it run. The carb I rebuilt as best I could with the rebuild kit is a carter. Any help??

Get a couple of ounces of gas in a can. pour a little in each carb primary. If it starts, you have no gas going to carb. Pump problem, plugged pickup in tank, etc. You said pump was new. Make sure you are hooked up to the ports right. Did the fuel pump drive rod engage the lever on the pump properly?
Last thought: I once had a problem with no fuel feeding to carb w/holley pump. So I took it apart. There was a chunk of crud stuck in one of the valves holding it open, so pump couldn't build pressure.
