Been having a vibration problem.......

I will make this short.........I paid 575.00 to have my rear end set up (labor only) gears...140.00, complete delux rear end gear installtion kit....109.00 and the vibration and highway noise was still there. Get the car on jack stands put it in gear and get the idle so it stays a 2k. All kinds of noise coming from under the car. I have not verified this as of yet.(its raining and I don't drive my car in the rain) But the u-joint appear to be bad. After dropping the drive shaft....2 of the from caps on the ujoints will not even spin. I have it all put together waiting on a dry spell. FYI the vibration was a 2k and leveled out from there. Just thought I would share this and possibly save somebody some money.

It sounds like your drive shaft needs rebalancing. (That and probably a new set of u-joints.)

I just replaced the u-joints...........thats not it. I do have a little drive shaft wobble..........(1/16"-1/8") more to the 1/16" side. Is it possible that I bent my drive shaft?/ Twisted?

I know when you replace the u-joints, it is critical that the drive shaft goes back in the same way it came out to remain balanced. If its been some time since its been balanced, then that might be part of the problem.

I will give it a wurl at this point and time. It could be a pinion set up problem also.
