Question B&M 144 SBC under 69Z28 hood?

i got the stock cowl z28 hood and a sbc. looking to put the 144 blower on there. anyone ever have clearance problems. i know it willbe tight to get a decent size air filter, but overall, can i make it fit? anyone actually stuff a 174 under the stock hood? you know bigger is always better. :-)
thanks,

mike

Im sure you would probably get better responses in the 1st/2nd gen section, but it does move a lot slower than here

I really dunno, but with a cowl a little 144 blower might fit.

What happened? Did you have to re-register or something?

I'm glad to see that you still have that beautiful 69. All your cars are sweet. And your wife is hot too

.. *Ahem*... About the blower.. It may fit, but I'm doubtful. Of course, a small cowl would be no problem.. But I can understand if you want to keep the look. Still, it might fit. Maybe your local speed shop can give you a measurement.

yea. for some reason my id history was gone. i had not logged in in some time since i moved and was getting settled in. still got the car and wife. i did have a buyer when i was going to sell it, but i had a heart to heart with the wife, and she talked me into keeping it. she's cool.

so, i decided to go all out. got a 4340 stroker kit, blower, converted it to a 4 speed with console (M21)...

hoping for high 10's at 125 with the blower. blower is on the way, but wanted to get some feedback whether i might have clearance issues. i am assuming not, but i was sure others have tried it before.

catcha later,

mike

A friend of mine has the B&M 144 on a small block under the stock cowl hood of his 69 Camaro. It does fit, but it's tight. He had to go with a shorter low-profile air cleaner.
