Any advice for this set-up to gain more power

I bought this engine from a guy who said he ran a 11.94 with this same engine in his full sized monte carlo. I was wondering how much horsepower this combo should make. I have a 67 camaro this will be going in. I also wanted to know is there any part that would work better with my combo. Like a different cam or intake. I'm looking to get the most power with this set-up. Any help will be great. Could this motor also hold up to nitrous maybee a 75-100 shot. Thanks - Mike

Looks pretty much like a beefy setup to me. With that cam duration, you're probably going to be bringing the RPMs high enough to test the limits of that crank as it is. The only thing you might be able to do is squeeze some 1.6 ratio rockers into the heads for a tiny bit more lift. This engine looks a lot like the engine I have on the stand, except I'm doing a 3.75" stroke crank and hydraulic rollers.

Unless those heads have some porting done to them, it's really a little too much cam. Something with about 10* less duration would probably actually make more power across the board.

A buddy of mine has a similar engine but with 383 cubes and runs 12.2s @ 112 in a big fat all-steel 72 Chevelle.

with a cam that size it would definitly have to be stick car or have big stall. The only quick and easy mod you could do is to change the intake to a victor jr. the stealth is ok but not nearly good enough for the rpm you are running and as for nitrous 100 hp should be fine as long as you control your spark advance
