No way a bone stock 72 455 TA runs 12.0... even on slicks!

The guy is obviously clueless and more than likely has probably never even raced it.... at least not anywhere where it was timed through the traps.

But not 10.70's on stock exhaust. It most likely had open headers. The stock exhaust on the ZL1's killed off at least 60-70 hp.

I really think the distinction between the cars that normal people can buy and in the day, sponsored teams.

I would also like to see all the options that came with these "production" cars.

I mean, technically, you could have bought this car that was built on a production line....

In late summer `72 Pontiac showed a `73 SD455 to the Press. This car had 3.90 gears, headers, and special carb and distributor settings (supertuned). And it was running high 12's.

No way any factory Pontiac was in the low 12's EVER.

Hemi Cudas and GS 455 Stage 1s (arguably the fastest cars of the original musclecar era) can't run a 12.0 bone stock.
well sir the HEMI CUDA'S where running 11's and 10's and so where the HURST S/S AMX'S.
THEY ARE BOTH CONSIDERED MUSCLE CAR'S NOW AIN'T THEY???????????

TRUE THE RACE HEMI WASN'T A PRODUCTION CAR,
BUT HURST S/S AMX WAS PRODUCTION CAR AND THEY RAN 11'S AND 10'S. THEY BUILT 53 OF THEM I GOT ONE I SHOULD KNOW.
WELL RATHER 10.80'S - 11.20'S. SO YTOU SAYIN ONLY AMC HAD A PRODUCTION CAR THAT DID 11'S AND 10'S OFF THE SHOW ROOM FLOOR.???????? I DOUBT IT. I BET THE ZL-1'S ARE PRETTY CLOSE TO THEM TIME'S.????????

I think it's all B.S. !!!

Show me a 60's - 70's "production car" that ran 10's stock and I'll eat my hat. Making 50 of a kind car does NOT make it a "production car."

well 53 joe blow's off the street could walk and buy one of them.
so i would assume that would make it a production car just limited number's. but i could be wrong on that.
but if you go to the amx site and look for your self they,
did run low11's high 10's. that any one could buy them. so u just figured it was a prodyction car. i could be wrong???????.
but there was a limited number of zl-1's too ya know???

53 cars in 365 days is not a "production" car. when i worked on the line we pumped out 1000 cars a day on a good day. can you say FACTORY TUNED!
