68 firebird clutch fork

my buddy has a 68 firebird that hes putting a chevy 350 in but hes having trouble because the clutch fork is hitting the firewall before totally releasing the clutch. he has tried a pontaic and a chevy clutch fork and still had the same problem. has anyone elese had the same problem? any suggestions helpful, thanks in advance.

There are several things that could be wrong. He may have the wrong arm, or the pivot ball may be the wrong one, and there are three different lengths of throw-out bearings. If he does some serious searching I am sure that he can solve the problem. If the clutch arm is the correct one for the F-body, I would then look at the pivot ball and find the proper one. Then you still have some adjustment room utilizing one of the three different throw-out bearings. Good luck, It can be a little nightmare.
