385 and 700 swap! have questions

First off I`m new to the board, I have a few friends here who are on the board, so I figured I would join. OK first question is I am clearancing my block for the rod bolts, just curious how much metal can I grind off the block before hitting a water jacket. I have the Eagle esp h-beam rods w/through bolts, will I need to take a little off the bolt head itself, and also should I have any problems w/cam interference, the cam I have is a lunati bracket master adv.duration 300/300 at .050 246/246 lift 515/515. The final question I have has anyone encountered any major problems swaping in a 700 in the place of a turbo 350, I have all the improved internals for the 700 that I got from bowtie overdrives, all suggestions welcome!

Welcome to the board! I can't help you with the clearance question, but on the 700, you can get a th400 crossmember and elongate the holes to work and drill only a couple of new holes in the frame. The drive shaft will have to be shortened, you'll have to figure out a way to get the convertor to lock up, rig up a cooler because they hate heat, get some new detent gates for your shifter, and rig the TV cable just so. Other than that, no problemo!
