I swaped a 350 small block into my 95 v6 It was a lot of work but it was well worth it. Check out www.ownedracing.com and click on motor swap on the left to see pics of it ask me questions at http://ownedracing.proboards75.com/index.cgi please I check it more then I do here
Re: 350 into 95 fourth gen
I would imagine the guys that hand at the V6 or LT1 engine tech would find this a lot more interesting than the old fogies at classic engine tech...........
Great job though!
I'll bet it was a royal pain in the ****.

Great job though!

I have a few questions, as I am in the process of doing the same thing. How much did you have to cut the cowl to get the carb to fit, its hard to tell as your pictures are so dark? Also, which distributor is that? I am using the msd 85551 which fits under the cowl without a cap, but I am wondering if it will fit with the cap. Are you using the fuel system from the camaro, or a different setup?

Re: 350 into 95 fourth gen
Not trying to be an ***, but why would you put $150 valve covers on your engine but use stock rocker arms? If the motor is built at all I would have put some full roller rockers on.
Re: 350 into 95 fourth gen
I never thought that this motor swap would get so much attention I have a lot of people asking me questions from many different forms I just thought everyone would like to see the pics but i am glad people are interested in the swap. There is a lot of guess work so I am going to put together a list of what I did and the parts I used. If you are planning on doing this swap it will be very helpful and take out the hours of guess work of matching up brackets motor mounts ect. I will post it on http://www.ownedracing.com/ under motor swap on the left hand side it should be up by the end of the week if you have more questions that are not answered in the list just ask on me here: http://ownedracing.proboards75.com/index.cgi
and for -LT1Formulation not to be an *** or anything but I don't need aftermarket rockers to beat your car. And I didn't know that you needed and I quote "some full roller rockers on" for a motor to be built

im only 17
i love the swap. Very clean!
lol he was talkin bout the guys with the old 60s and 70s camaros and firebirds that have blown and swapped motors many times. hell at first i thought 'so what? I've done 3 motor swaps, v6-v8- bigger v8'
however I am impressed with your ability to hack that wimpy engine compartment and fit a decent size motor in there, i know in my swap to a 350 it was a pain in the *** to get around and make sure everything was sliding in correctly. and my compartment is small (84 v6 firebird) but nowhere near how tight you poor guys with the 93 up f bodies have it. nice swap, now mop up the LS1's!!!

Re: 350 into 95 fourth gen
I've got a modded LS1, I doubt you'll beat my car. Higher spring pressures and steeper ramps on a camshaft contribute to the failure of stock rocker arms. I've seen it happen many times. I just don't see the point in improving an engine's looks but not it's durability. But to each his own.
