Question 350 Block Stamp

Hey guys, I've looked all over the net for Chevy block stamping codes and I've come across a few sites containing a good amount of information; however, I've been unable to make any sense of the code that's stamped on my 350. The story from the guy I bought the car from is that it was a new crate motor dropped in by the owner before him, but who knows if you can trust a car salesman Could somebody with more experience deciphering engine block codes look up this stamp: T072IHC or at least point my in the direction of a website or book that I could use to figure it out myself? Thanks!

maybe it is a HC code not IHC (a 1 HC maybe?)
if so its 1969 HC 350ci manualtrans 250hp 2bolt used in A F X body
Check out www.nastyz28.com and www.mortec.com for engine IDing. If the date clock says 69 thats what ya got.
Good Luck.

Hmmmm, the code could be a 1HC and not IHC. It's a little hard to read since there's some oil baked on like kryptonite over the casting number, so I could've misread it. I'll take the digital camera out in the driveway tonight when I get home from work and try to snap a picture of the casting so I can post it.

Tonawanda engine plant
0721 = July 21

HC could also be a 1965 327 that had a powerglide behind it. Rated at 275hp with a 4 barrel and came in full size cars (Impala, Chevelle etc)

Actually, after looking at the websites that CoryM posted, I think I have a 1982 350. T0721 probably means the Tonawanda engine plant, July 21st. If it is a THC, and not 1HC, on the block suffix, I have a 1982 generic 350. At least according to this website I do:

http://www.nastyz28.com/sbchevy/spcode7.html

Anybody have any other viewpoints or ideas? Like I said, I'm definitely no engine number decoding guru or anything.

Alright, I had to go out and double-check the number stamped to the block. The suffix is neither 1HC or THC but actually IHC. IHC is definitely not listed on the nastyz28 website though. Anybody have any idea?
