Heres what I got, 1982 Z28 immaculate condition, now has 1970 350 + .30, 4 bolt 9.25 comp.650 holley double pump (stock jets), 1'' carb spacer, torque 11 manifold, aftermarket Hei spark, 465/488 cam w/ 1.6 steel roller rockers, holley mech fuel pump, 1970# 041 p&p heads small valves, Z28 springs, turbo 350 trans w/b&m manual shift kit, 2000 stall converter,4.11 posi and nitto drag radial tires. The best time in the 1/8 is 8.63 at about 82 mph, what Iam looking for is info to inprove the performance and time without spending a small mint any thoughts would be helpful .

first get rid of that 1" spacer. let the torker 2 work like it's supposed to. you will notice a substantial increase in torque. the farther you move the carb. away, the more HP (highrpm). second, get a k & n stub stack. they run about 35 bucks. they help straighten out the intake air. grasmo.

first use the torker II intake as a doorstop and purchase a performer RPM intake. You can get them from swap meets cheaply used as well. That should be worth a lot over the old torker technology from 1970s. More stall and a bigger cam should be worthwhile as well. remove weight out of the car as possible as well.

Hi,thanks for the comeback, did try the performer rpm , and went faster with the torq 2, my plans do include a 3200 to 3600 stall converter,( my 60 ft times suck)[and as for as the weight goes i have ripped everything out under the hood not needed and I will be getting rid of the vacuum boost as soon as I figure out what is needed for the manual brakes swap thanks again, 82

Timing: It plays a big role. Have you adjusted it at the track for the best mph? Its really odd you have better times with the torquer 2 over the performer RPM . You could go up in duration on your cam a little without changing convertors. Are you gettin wheelspin? I would also keep the power brakes, you don't lose that much weight by taking it off. Also what kind of exaust do you have? I'm sure there other things that could help you.

Hi, Yes I have adjusted the heck out of it at the track, seems to like 39 or 40 +deg, due to the old style heads. The MPH almost stays constant about 82. As for as the cam goes yes you are correct, but I think the converter 3000/3500 is the way I will go have to get the 60 ft times lower, By the way the last time out with the car I broke one of the axles when I did a second burn out,( I usually only do one and leave the line at idle or just above to prevent wheel spin/ which may be because I just found a fluid blocking kink in the rear pass side brake line) this will not happen again due to the new moser axles and auburn pro series diff. The exhaust consists or shorty headers via a Y pipe connected to a large dia. cat. back system minus the cat. Still not shure about the vacuum boost though, will decide after replacing the brake line and see if that helps thanks 82
