1978 Camaro RS LT (Exterior diffs)
Between a 1978 Camaro RS and a 1978 Camaro RS/LT, are there any exterior differences between the two?
I know that the interior had different seat material and other interior changes..
But if you were viewing a 1978 Camaro RS and a 1978 Camaro RS/LT side by side, any way of telling the difference? Does the RS/LT say LT anywhere on the car?
Actually i'm referring to visually distinguishing from the exterior from a 1978 Camaro RS and one with the LT package with the RS (RS/LT).
If the LT added any exterior changes, badges on top of the RS body color, moldings, paint scheme, and RS badging. :-)
Thanks
Only looking for exterior differences between the two. (not decoding via VIN)

Well I have an 80 RS and I had to get a new door from a 78 LT and it had exterior trim on the door. I had to grind down the little tabs on the door and paint it to get it to match. So some have trim and some do not.

Well mine does have the door trim also (at the top of the door) but I thought all of them had it... I know the Z28's did.
The type LT was disscontinued after 78 and it was replaced with the Berlinetta.

I owned a 78 Rally Sport LT that I bought new in 1978. There was no outside difference between the Rally Sport and the Rally Sport LT that I can remember. All the differences were on the inside. Power windows, power door locks, seat coverings, better stereo standard, and so on. LT stands for Luxury Touring, so Rally Sport LT was the luxury model of the Sport Model, if that makes sense.
There were only about 5800 Rally Sport LT's made. I wish I still had that car. Sigh.
