i meant if he wanted to go the Q jet style then he should get a Thermoquad

"go for it.they are cheap to fix look cool and gain value but the down side is they suck gas and are noisey."

i dont see the noise being a bad thing. i only got a 350 in my 67 camaro. and im only 17. sure gas is killer. but its worth it runnin open headers past the local ice cream shops. Totally worth it man. every head will turn. Get cut-outs. i run mufflers most of the time. or open headers if i feel like bein really noisy. all i do is undo 6 wingnuts. best $100 ever.

I'm still curious as to why... there are several carbs out there with Q-Jet "style" (assuming you mean spread bore. Edelbrock, Carter, Holley, Demon, etc....

In fact, this months Hot Rod referred to the thermoquad as "25 bucks worth of pig iron and plastic"

i mean something cheap thermquad in a junkyard cheap,
buying new Edelbrock, Holley, Demon carb not really cheap

i think more of how much it costs than the performance
but for performance reasons Edelbrock, Holley, Demon is a good way togo

Have you taken a look at your car lately? I wouldn't trade my 89 Escort GT straight up for it. Sorry if it sounds a little harsh, but if I was selling a car I definately wouldn't sell it in that kind of shape.

I've had a 68 Camaro with a 705 hp (dynoed) 482 since i was 17. Only gets 6 mpg so I bought a beater and the beater has paid for itself in gas savings already and I am 20... LOL
