Way Below Book, Low Mileage Modded '95 Trans Am
Way Below Book, Low Mileage Modded '95 Trans Am
I’m posting this here once more; think of it as a winter special. If it doesn’t sell here, then I’ll put it on EBay and just hope that some ‘tard doesn’t get a hold of it and tear it up.
I’m hoping that posting it here cheap, at least I can have the peace of mind that someone that actually cares about cars will buy it.
I’ve owned the car for 4 years, almost all mods and tuning done by me. Check my older posts, I’ve spent a ton of time on this board and on my car and like to think that I’m pretty knowledgeable and that the mods were done right.
I’m selling to get funds to begin modding my STI.
I’ve taken the car to the track twice. Best I was able to muster was a corrected (7400’ DA on that day) 12.3 @ 115 on street tires, 60’ was 2.21 (severely traction and driver limited). The other time to the track the DA was lower, however I could not hook up the 1 to 2 shift and the numbers suffered because of it. It would just overpower the tires on that shift forcing me to get back out of it. Either driver, track prep, or needs stickier tires. I’ll let the new owner figure that out.
For Sale:
’95 Pontiac Trans Am
Cyclamine Purple
~60,000 Miles
T-Tops
Leather
Factory Chrome 5 Spoke Wheels
BFG Comp TA Tires, very good tread left
Sony Deck
MB Quart Components Front
JL Sub Rear
Alpine V12 mono amp for sub.
Mods:
GTP Stage II Heads
Comp Cams XE 224/230 Cam
Crane Gold Race 1.6 ratio rockers
Trickflow chromemoly pushrods
AS&M 52mm throttle body
K&N FIPK CAI
FMS 42lb/hr injectors
MSD BTM Ignition
MAC shorty headers <-no secondary air injection, keep in mind emissions guys
ORP <-no cat, keep in mind emissions guys
Flowmaster catback
Pro 5.0 Shifter
4.10 rear (looks like an Auburn Posi, was there when I bought the car, so I cant be sure)
LS1 aluminum driveshaft
‘98+ Tail lights
Running an aggressive open loop tune <-keep in mind that it may need to be re-tuned for different environmental conditions (lower or higher altitude, different weather of new owner’s location).
The Bad:
Paint is good but not great. Looks like the previous owner had a small garage and there are a few “touch up” areas on the drivers door. There is one small area on the hood that the clear has come off.
There is a small oil leak from the front cover. I replaced the oil pan gasket thinking it was coming from the front cover seal to the oil pan; however, it appears it must be one of the seals in the timing cover. It will be a cheap fix (seals are cheap), bit time consuming though. It hasn’t been enough of a problem for me to worry about though, so I’ve let it be.
Price:
$6900, DO NOT try to low ball me, it books for well more than that and has nearly that amount invested in mods alone. I’m only selling it this cheap due to the season and not having a home for it for the winter.
I live in Northern Wyoming, weather this time of year is finicky so someone would probably need to bring a truck and trailer. I wouldn’t suggest driving a 400+hp rwd car up here if the weather is bad. So far, we have not had much snow, but I don’t know how much longer that will last.
A pic can be found here.

Up until March of this year, it has been garaged. After getting my STI, it has been an outdoor car. No rust, or bad weathering.

Re: Way Below Book, Low Mileage Modded '95 Trans Am
LOL, people that I talk to keep asking basically, "What is wrong with the car?". There is really nothing wrong with it short of what I listed. Mechanically it has been very good to me.
It has been to the track twice (while I've owned it), and really led a sheltered life for the mods on it (read. not beat on). BTW, the track is 125 miles away, if that is any testament to it's road-worthiness.
I must have priced it low enough till people assume something is wrong. Again, it is only priced that low so I can find it a good home before winter hits hard and I have to rent storage (because it is not going to sit outside this winter if I own it).
I took more pics last night. They are night pics, so the flash does weird things with shadows. For instance, I took a side shot and it made the tires look really small because the flash illuminated the shadows in the wheel wells. I hated the shot so I'm not putting it in. Suffice it to say, 275/50/16s in the back aren't small lol (255/50/16 front either for that matter).
Anyway, here are some raw pics. Please forgive the dust, but the little use I give it makes it hard to keep clean.

I have three interested parties. I'll post back when something is concrete either yes or no.

Back to the top with ya!
Still nothing concrete on this. Someone has to want it at this price. Send me a message, email or feel free to call my cell. Little bit of snow today, really don't want to have to store it all winter.
Thanks for looking,
Tom Hensley

Ya know, the day after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the year. How about someone takes home a nice fast T/A?

Re: Way Below Book, Low Mileage Modded '95 Trans Am
Dont know if I asked or not, but Interested in trading for a 95 T-Bird with tons of mods (but still good on gas and cheap on insurance) + some cash? Please let me know.
Re: Way Below Book, Low Mileage Modded '95 Trans Am
I have to say I seen you run at the track. You have one fast car, I cannot believe you are selling it.
Would have been scary to see what you can do if you hook up.
Very nice car man..

. Thank you for the offer though.Appreciate the kind comments. Wish I could have gotten some traction as well, still don't know if it was my driving, track prep, or tires. Best guess would be a combination of all three
.Car is still here and weather is still holding out.
Someone who loves cars, please come and take this T/A away to a new loving home.

Sorry been neglecting my post.
Car is still for sale.
Not looking to trade, thank you though (and beautiful bike by the way).
Email, PM, or Post back here. Email would be best as I haven't had much time lately to browse this board.
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Way Below Book, Low Mileage Modded '95 Trans Am
Hi Darin,
Yes the T/A was supercharged for a while. The previous owner's apparently had a Paxton on it (judging by the intake ducting that was on it when I bought it). I don't know much about that short of that the head unit was not included when I bought it.
I had a P600B on it for a few months. Never really had any "fun" with it though, as I became afraid that I might pop a piston and ruin one of the heads (too much money in them to risk it until I could afford a forged bottom end). All in all, I'd say I put maybe a couple hundred miles on it while it was Supercharged and it never saw over 6psi in those miles (had a pretty elaborate relief valve setup).
Any other questions?
Thanks,
Tom
