Price Appraisal on my 1996 Z28 Convertible? (56K Warning, lots of pics)
Hey, thanks for looking.
I'm going off to college in early September, and I need to get rid of this car to purchase a daily driver. I just don't have the time, knowledge, or money right now to put this project back together.
This is my 1996 Z28 Convertible.
I have NO idea what condition the engine is in, for all I know it may be seized.
Body panels are all in good shape, and most everything not pictured (small parts, accessories) I have stowed away.
The top is totally shot, will need a replacement.
I'm pretty sure that all the bezels and plastic is there, just needs to be cleaned up.
As you can see I'm still in the process of replacing the carpet.
Wiring as far as under the hood is alright, interior (locks, windows, etc) seem to work fine.
Speakers are Pioneer which I'm assuming are aftermarket.
Paint is in pretty good shape, some small scratches on passenger side front fender, and obviously on the nose from asphalt debris.
And I do have original seats, passenger seat is in fair condition, driver seat has cracks and tears in leather.
I have the center console as well, just not pictured.

I'm going away to college in the first week of September, and I'm hoping to replace this with a daily driver.
Is $2500 too much to ask?
What would you pay?
Thanks again for looking, and thanks in advance for a reply.

Located in Hollister, CA. (About two hours south of Sacramento)
It's in the same condition that I got it in, I'm assuming it has driven as it is registered.
I didn't take it apart, the only parts I removed were to replace the carpet. The weird thing about the engine though, I wasn't sure if the people were trying to put it back together, or take it apart, but we haven't been able to run a compression test on it to see if the engine is even any good.
It is not a flood car, however it was left in some rain before I got it, and the rear window is out, so there was a fair amount of water in the rear interior (which is why I replaced the carpet) but, when I pulled up the old carpet, no rust or anything in the floor.
The car was more or less abandoned when we got it, I have no contact with the previous owners, but I sure wish I did, would help me out a lot.
