FS or trade: 95 Z28 convertible

1995 Z28 convertible - for sale or trade - $6k OBO

I've had this car since 1999. She was originally owned by a GM service manager in Atlanta who got rid of her when faced with skyrocketing insurance premiums due to his son turning 16. The car has been maintained regularly throughout her 9 years and has never experienced any major mechanical failures.

With approximately 105,000 miles various things have worn out and last year I began work on the car to bring various maintenance items up to date. As a responsible adult, this car hasn't been ridden rough and has many miles left in her. I tellecommute and this car was not a daily driver, as I walk about 20 feet to work every day!

Many times I said that I would own this car for the rest of my life, but things change. Almost 9 months ago I parked her in central North Carolina while I traveled over the summer prior to relocating to Alabama. I've since decided to start a business focused on providing off the grid opportunities to fellow telecommuters who want to see remote parts of the US while still remaining connected to their business activities through the Internet.

I've decided to give up this car in order to help fund my new dream.

If you have a truck, van or SUV, I'd be open to discussing a partial trade as I need a vehicle that can haul mountain biking, clinbing and camping gear.

On to the details about the car....

1995 Camaro 728 convertible
Black exterior, graphite interior, all power options
5.7liter V8 Automatic

Engine/Drive train maintenance & modifications performed within the past 10,000 miles:
New catalytic converter
New timing chain
New distributor, plugs coil and wires
New O2 sensors
new Goodyear radiator hoses
Rear end /axle rebuild (stock 3.42 gearing)
New KYB 8 way adjustable shocks
Eibach sport springs, 1.5 inch drop
Eldebrock "shorty" headers with Stage 8 locking bolts

Other modifications:
B&B 3 inch stainless "Triflow" exhaust
SLP cold air intake

Interior / Exterior:
The interior and exterior are in fair shape. My future plans involved replacing the top, recovering the seats and painting the exterior.

While the convertible top does not leak it does show some age and could stand to be replaced. The rear defrost glass window did develop a leak and was replaced with a clear plastic insert. I did hold onto the original glass to use for the restoration that I won't be getting around to.

The car has never been wrecked. There are a couple of small door dings and two small dings on the hood from a rock that flew up one day while driving through the NC Mountains.

Wheels / tires / brakes:
17x9.5 Corvette ZR1 wheels with BFG KDW2's. There is little life left in these tires. The wheels do have some minor curb rash. I also have the original 16x8 salad shooter wheels as well. The brake pads should be replaced within the next 20k miles.

This car would be a great base for someone's dream project. I'm sure she'll bring someone many years of pleasure on the open road.
