FS: 1996 Ram-Air TA, built for boost

The time has come for me to cut my losses on my Trans Am. I have not been doing much with it for the last 5 years, and with the addition of a child a year ago, I have even less time or motivation. My primary reason for keeping the car so long has been the realization that I will probably never again have the chance to attain such a high number of mods. If you check out the site you wlll see what I have built and what mods I have new-in-box, including Vortech T-trim.

Thanks for looking,
Joe

$9500/BO. The Vortech, VersaFueler, 72 lb injectors, Wideband Commander, C5 brake brackets, etc, are all available separately as upgrades. I won't sell them before the car. All the details are available at the link in my original post.

Everything added up totals $15000. If someone were to buy the whole thing I would knock off at least $500....

Blown head gasket - price lowered by $1500

Drove the car a few times these past couple of weeks and my coolant level has dropped a bit. So the head gasket is leaking. Therefore I'll knock off $1500 and include the stock heads with new valvesprings. The ported heads need to be checked out, so you could put the stock heads on and drive the car. I'll also include another stock intake, in case the ported heads are warped and need to be milled you will have an intake that can be angle milled to match. (I bought them used so they might be milled already).

If there's no interest I will be doing this at some point, but then certainly selling the car with the stock heads.

So wait a minute, your asking 8000.00 for a car with a blown head gasket that blew it on horsepower when its designed for boost and your not even including the blower in the sale price. Good luck with the sale, nice short block BTW

Yeah, fix or replace the heads, fix the problem. Thus the discount. Unless you think it's not enough. The shortblock alone cost $4700 on this car.

I bought the heads used and I don't know how much they were previously milled. I told Golens to check them out and angle mill the intake if necessary but they didn't do anything, and I bet they didn't even check.

Good luck on the sale, sounds like this car has a lot of potential for sure. Put some boost to it and 700+ rwhp should not be a problem I would imagine.

Thanks. I'd like to point out that this is a limited time offer. What I'm going to do in a couple of weeks is put the stock heads back on the car. I know they're good. The reason for this is that I do my work at a buddy's garage, and I can't leave the car there disassembled for a couple of weeks. I'll then trying selling the car for maybe 8500 with the stock heads.

heads replaced, $8000/BO

I put the stock heads (outfitted with PAC beehive springs and new seals) on this past weekend to fix the headgasket problems. Car still seems pretty fast, didn't lose much going by the seat of the pants. My AC fix did not work, so the system still has a slow leak somewhere. The ABS does not work. That's all that's wrong. I'm planning on putting the car in ebay later this week.....

This price will include the ported heads and spare intake manifold. Obviously the ported heads will need to be checked for flatness, and the intake is likely to need angle milling to compensate for the head milling. This *may* have contributed to my head gasket failures, since the heads have been milled twice and the intake, never.
