99 Cougar *project*

Up for sale is my 1999 Mercury Cougar. I am the second owner of this car, and according to the carfax that I got when I purchased it in 2003 the first owner was a Corporate company and it was one of their fleet vehicles. If I recall I bought it with around 35 or 40k miles on it.

Modifications: The headlights were taken out and opened, the housing inside the clear lens was then molded (removing the amber triangle lens on the side of the housing) and reshaped to be smooth the way you see it now and then painted white and clear coated for a gloss finish, then reassembled and sealed, they have never leaked! As you may know this vehicle comes with projector style lenses in it already. The bulbs are 2 sets of high beam bulbs for added brightness. The plugs have not been modified so a standard set of high and lo beams bulbs can still be used. Their are also "Hyper White" turn signal bulbs as well (bluish). The "teeth" were cut from the grill to give it the open look you see in the pictures. Also the grill, the fog lights, and the plastic mesh inserts in the lower fascia were all painted white and clear coated. The front windshield wiper arms, the rear windshield wiper arm, and the drip tray under the front window were also painted white and clear coated. The X1 fenders have not been painted yet and still have their factory white gel coating on them (stock fenders are inside the car). The factory fog lights do not work, and haven't worked since I got the car. The factory squirter nozzles were removed and clear ones with a blue led light and strobe were installed. The stock 99 spoiler was removed and replaced with the sport spoiler from a 2002 Cougar. The tail lights were masked white, and clear coated however the clear coat cracked and needs to be resprayed.

The car needs a motor. The stock motor is sitting in the trunk with 2 thrown rods due to the motor being hydro locked. The transmission is still in the vehicle and is in good shape, it was always rock solid for me. The car still has a Tru-Benz High Flow Catalytic converter, as well as gutted precats (the vehicle stock has 3 catalytic converters on it, one main and a precat in each header, when gutted, produce more airflow, and a deeper sound in the exhaust) o2 simulators, 2.5 inch exhaust with a flowmaster original 40 series muffler. As you can see in the pictures the exhaust does not have "tips" on it yet (I didn't put them on because I was going to put a body kit on and didn't want to have to cut them off and change them if relocation was needed) I've had many people comment on the sound, saying it sounded very good, it was loud, deep sound, aggressive, I even had a few "what kind of engine is in that thing?!" Some thought it was a V8.

The interior needs reassembling, everything is there minus the floor to the rear cargo area, the only reason most of the interior was out is because I was in the process of revamping my audio system at the time of the hydro lock. The entire rear cargo area is dynamatted with dynamat extreme (over 5000 sq Inches of dynamat). The car has no speakers or radio, I have the stock radio still with a tape player that I will include. The antenna was shaved from the car and a hidden internal amped antenna was used. I had JBL
P8652 5x7's in the car, which I still have if someone is interested in them you can email me and we can talk. The stock shifter is in the car, but was removed and a billet shifter was installed. The factory gauge face was removed and replaced with a white gauge face.

3750 OBO (verrrry strong emphasis on the Best Offer lol)

***My post count is non-exhistant... but I've got good feedback on the below ebay link***

If you have no interest interest in the vehicle, please don't post... thanks

With any luck getting rid of this brings me one step closer to getting another F-body.

Seriously. You want 4k for a body with flowmasters.

I wouldn't ask that for my Jeep. (Yes, I would, but I wouldn't expect to get it)

And my Jeep runs. Flawlessly. with brand new off road tires and kept up maintence.

Why post this here?

As it said, if all you're interested in doing is flaming my thread, dont bother posting. And I mean really... from an 07 at that...

I don't care what you would or would not do with your jeep. And FYI, not that you need to know, but its posted here as well as many other places b/c exposure = more of a chance at selling... and I dont expect to get anything near the 4k, hence the best offer... oh but if you read you'd already know that...

Forum rules, just the messenger:

2) NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT IS FOR SALE? DO NOT POST IN THE THREAD
If you have no intention of buying what is being offered, then you have absolutely no business posting in the thread the item is being sold in. Giving someone a hard time because their price is too high, etc. is not your place if you weren't at least going to make an offer on what is being sold.
Good luck on the sale.
