96 Impala SS 104k miles, $9200
96 Impala SS 104k miles, $9200
I am posting this for my Dad:
I am selling my 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS. The 1996 Impala SS is the last year for these cars and is the most desirable as it is the only year in which the floor shifter, and analog speedometer is available. Standard equipment on this model includes a full leather interior, power mirrors, power windows and door locks, and power front seats and tilt wheel.
I have owned this car for five years and there was only one previous owner. This car has been 100% adult driven. The car has 104,000 mostly highway miles and all service is up to date. This car needs nothing. The motor runs strong and the transmission shifts like it should. There is no slippage. There are no leaks or drips from under the car. The tires and brakes are in excellent condition. The Black Cherry metallic paint is shiny (see pictures). There is no rust anywhere and no paint fading or peeling clearcoat. Even the bumper covers are in great condition.
The car features a custom installed high end stereo. It was designed to blend in as much as possible while giving a much needed improvement in sound quality. The Pioneer CD (model DEH-P9800BT) deck features Bluetooth speakerphone for hands-free cell phone connection and includes XM Radio (antenna is hidden under the rear deck) as well as an iPod connection (iPod wired into the center console). There is a five-channel Soundstream Reference 705 amplifier custom mounted in the trunk along with a 12” Kicker Comp VR sub-woofer, all mounted behind custom cover panels on either side of the trunk. This keeps everything hidden, while only sacrificing a very small amount of trunk space (see trunk pictures). The front speakers are MB Quart components, with the tweeters dash mounted under custom dyed grills and the mids mounted in the factory locations in the doors (again, see pictures). There are 2 Eclipse 6X9’s mounted in the rear deck. To cut back on road noise and rattles there is dynomat extreme in both of the front doors and throughout the trunk. I also had a 2way paging alarm and remote start professionally installed.
This Impala is powerful and fun to drive. I had several performance upgrades to the car installed during a comprehensive maintenance service about 30,000 miles ago. The routine maintenance service included new plugs and wires, as well as a new water pump and an Optispark distributor. The performance upgrades included: a GM 845 cam; upgraded valve springs, roller rockers; a tubular exhaust manifold and new custom 2.5" exhaust system including x-pipe, dynomax super turbo mufflers and resonators. There is also a custom cold air intake; Bilstein shocks; and a computer reprogramming by Bryan Herter at PCMforless. While these upgrades certainly improved the performance of the car, it is by no means too extreme. The car feels light and responsive and is fun to drive, the way Chevy should have done it in the first place.
I also have a set of winter wheels + tires that will go with the car. They are 15” steel wheels off of a 95 Police Package Caprice. They are black with the chrome center cap. Tires are M&S rated Firestone tires and have about 20% tread left.
All the glass is intact and all windows operate smoothly. The air conditioning blows ice-cold. The heater and defroster work as they should. The cruise control also works fine.
There are a few imperfections with the car that I will do my best to describe. Please refer to my pictures to see what I’ve described as problems, as the flaws are not that bad.
On the exterior there are a couple of touched-up rock chips (less than 1/4” in size) on the hood and top of the driver’s fender. The driver’s side rear quarter panel has two small (pinhead sized) paint chips. There is a small (again, pinhead sized) rock chip low in the front windshield (been there more than 5 years). In the interior, the driver’s seat has a short (4”) split along a seam in the seatback. There is a small ( ˝”) puncture in the passenger front seat cushion. The carpet has a stain near the center console, under where I kept my coffee cup. One spot on the carpet, under the driver’s left foot, is worn.
I regret to admit that I smoked in this beautiful vehicle and left a few smudges on the dashboard where I reached for the ashtray without taking my eyes off the road. A recent shampooing removed the smell.
This 1996 Chevy Impala SS is a true classic and updated to the way I feel Chevy should have made it. It is in remarkable condition. I have truly enjoyed driving this car. I hate to let it go, but I needed a different car for my business and must sell it. The Impala SS must go!
Asking Price is $9,200, will deliver up to 100 miles from 62711 zip code and can work out delivery beyond that for a price.

Just a heads up, for those who live in the southeast we will be taking a vacation to florida towards the end of March, we can work out delivery to the southeastern states for then if you are interested.
We will be heading from central, IL down to the West Palm Beach area in florida, so meeting someone along the way in kentucky, tennesee, georgia or florida would be possible. As long as you pay the deposit at the end of the auction we can work something out.
Good luck bidding.
