94Z auto runs great, 129k mi-- cheap!

1994 Camaro Z28, Bright Teal Metallic, 129,100 miles, Automatic 4-speed w/overdrive, 5.7L 350 LT1 engine. Clear title. This car is fast and runs great! Priced to sell at $2,500! Engine pulls and runs strong. Transmission was rebuilt about 20k miles ago with high-performance components and added a shift kit…. It shifts perfect and very firm like a sportscar should. New radiator added this summer and cooling system flushed (new coolant), new radiator hose, and new thermostat, new front brakes, new front rotors. Has a cold air intake (home-made I think but works fine) and flowmaster exhaust. Sounds great, deep rumble but not too loud. Has 3.73 gears which are the single best performance upgrade you can do on these cars (stock are 2.73 in 1994 automatics).

all the pics i have at the moment are blackberry pics taken 1-14-09, so sorry about the lower quality (the one below is from this summer). car is dirty now... does clean up pretty good and i have a good coat of Mequire's NXT wax on her.

I'll put up a small gallery later but more pics can be found here:
http://nrvweb.com/94z/images/

The car actually has approx 8k-10k LESS miles on it than odometer shows as previous owner did not recalibrate the speedometer or odometer after gear change. I retuned the computer to correct the speedo/odometer and added a very mild tune. This is a hard-top car, not a T-top—Z28 roofs are all black so it may look like a T-top car in pics but it is not… most T-top cars leak and hard tops are have a firmer chassis. Limited slip differential works perfect—both tires hook for straight-line traction.

Leather trim tilt steering wheel, dual air bags, cruise control.

Power door locks and windows. Keyless entry. The remote keyless only opens the driver side and hatch, occasionally it will also open passenger, it rarely locks the doors. This is a common issue on these cars and it just needs a new keyless control module. The power window buttons on driver side have broke away from the inside of the door and are hard to get to…. If I can remember I will go by the salvage yard this week and get a replacement and fix that.

The wipers do not always fully return to their OFF position, just a minor nuisance but a wiper pulse board will fix it- $40 (Chevy has always had problems with this). . They work fine otherwise. (you can see in the pic above, that is where they usually return to-- a few inches up from where theyr'e supposed to be when off).

6-way power drivers seat works perfect. Interior has the normal stains and whatnot for the age. One tear in drivers seat (is nice otherwise) so I keep a cover over it. All other seats look very good, (no tears or stains). Non smoker car.

Inspection valid thru 5/2009.

Front tires *brand new* Kumho Ecstas and freshly aligned 1/22/09. The backs have maybe 30% life and showing some cracks but will be ok til inspection time at which they might fail.

Brakes are excellent, stops good and straight. I put new front rotors on on 1-12-2009. Front brakes look brand new (were done in Dec 07 or Jan 08). Brand new rear brakes done 1-25-2009.

Car handles and corners great. Suspension is good.

Stock cassette stereo works fine (I play Ipod and Sirius through cassette adaptor).

Air-conditioning does work but I suspect will need a recharge this summer (add one or two cans of the R-134a stuff about $7 ea). Heater blows hot air.

Car does leak some oil. I believe this to be the intake leak that most these LT1 motors have but I haven’t gotten around to fixing (about a 4 hr job and a few bucks for the gasket and sealant). It’s done it since I got it and hasn’t gotten worse.

I would give the paint maybe a 4 out of 10, shines good in some places but a bit dull in others. Some of the clear-coat is coming off the top front of quarterpanel. Normal amount of rock chips. No rust anywhere and paint is not peeling anywhere. Looking closely you can see under the clear coat that the paint in some places has a cracked-looking texture—normal for this age I think. A few small door dings here and there. ** The biggest cosmetic flaw is a sizeable dent in the right rear quarter panel. This is not from an accident, someone backed into the car while it was parked on street. This dent is easily accessible from inside the hatch and can be fixed easily by anyone who does body work/paint. I don’t and it didn’t bother me. Minor curb rash on wheels but they clean up decent. There is is a small dent on one rim. The exhaust tip is a little to close to rear end and has gotten some soot on rear bumper, which I believe will clean right up but I’ve never tried hard to get it off.

The low coolant sensor light comes on sometimes but it is just a faulty sensor (common issue on these cars). You can clearly see coolant at proper level. It might just need a cleaning, I'll clean it if i can remember/find time.

I usually get about 18.5 mpg w/ 89 octane mixed mountainous “spirited” driving. A lighter foot or highway trip should easily see 20 something.

My friend that worked at a dealer ran a Carfax on it when i bought this car and everything checked out just fine.

I love driving this car and drive it daily 17 miles to work in Blacksburg, VA. I bought it in May 2008 cause I missed driving a sports car. This is the 2nd 94Z I’ve owned. Reason for selling is I want to buy a C5 corvette and I already have 4 vehicles and too many toys. So this one has to go. This is a mechanically sound car with some mileage but that I would trust to drive daily or drive about anywhere. It has the normal par-for-the course cosmetic issues and oil leak of any 15 yr old American car. I have disclosed everything I know good and bad about it so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Priced to sell at $2500. Only other trade I’d be interested in would be a good small fishing boat with trailer and/or nice 4-stroke boat motor (like 9.9 hp). PM me with any questions.

I will give you 2500 cash. Is it the teal color? I have basically the same exact car, I'm just looking for something new. Could you also help me with the shipping costs? I live in new mexico and the area code is 87505. Thank you.

I am holding firm at 2700 for now with the new parts and I have no doubt I can get $3k if I'd advertise it. i'm not willing to help on shipping costs, sorry, but thanks for the offer. I would entertain dropping the vehicle off at a shipping facility, but the buyer needs to arrange and pay for all that. The shippers would be about an hour away from me (so I'm looking at driving 2 cars up there for dropoff/return)... but I did a real quick quote to NM and it came back with $648 estimate to ship.

Well 2700 is reasonable. The shippings isn't too bad either.

How would we exchange my payment for your car?

You can come take it for $2500, that is bottom dollar on it right now. Listed on Craigslist, couple folks coming to look at it this weekend, mostly tire kickers so far.

I'll keep that in mind, I'm in no hurry to sell. But if you want to pay $500 more, I'll meet you right off I-81 Exit 118 one evening after work if you want to check it out.
