1997 lt1 z28 a4

I'm hoping for $3600 OBO.

The Good:
It's fully loaded with T-tops, leather, traction control, and the Monsoon stereo. It also has the keyless entry but I DO NOT have the remote. 3rd brake light is custom painted to say Z28 while illuminated (not done by me), which at first I didn't care for but I've actually grown to like. It's got the LS1 aluminum driveshaft, its been lowered a bunch (I don't know exactly how much, but its got the alignment maxed out), its got a high flow spectre filter and aluminum intake elbow, and it looks like its previously had subs in the back. It's got an SLP exhaust off of an LS1 Camaro SS. I've done a bunch of custom tuning (myself, on the driveway), I've advanced the timing by 2 degrees, and decreased the WOT AFR target by 5%. I've also made the transmission shift faster, firmer, and sooner. The torque converter locks up sooner too for MPG's sake. I lowered the temperature for the fans so they now come on low speed at 205° and high speed at 212°, instead of the stock 226° and 234°. I still have the PCM image from when I got the car to flash back on if anyone wants. I have put on polyurethane engine and transmission mounts. It also has drilled and slotted rotors. Has a new water pump, new platinum spark plugs, and a new crankshaft oil seal. I have only used Chevron Premium gasoline since I had the plugs changed out roughly 2000 miles ago.

The Bad:
Its got a seam on the driver seat that separated last week, and there is also a crack on the dashboard but is not visible from the driver seat. The distributor is starting to go out, and causes a small backfire after WOT while not in gear (this started after I changed the water pump). Its still driveable (its been a daily driver since I got it), and does not backfire while in gear even after WOT because the RPM drops slower. My mechanic quoted me $600 for the opti, plug wires, and labor (I think the wires are fine though). I painted the hood myself and its not the best paint job ever, but the hood was white when I got the car. I do have the hood vents even though they aren't in the pictures. I've cut out the center for heat extraction and painted them black, but haven't had time to put them back on the car yet. There are a few places where the paint is bad which are in the pictures. Whoever replaced the transmission from the theft (more on this below) put in one from an older, non OBD-II Camaro (still a 4L60E) and it doesn't feel quite right. The speed sensor O-ring leaks a little.

Its also missing the ash tray, and needs an accessory panel cover for the driver door ($30), and a lock cover (little piece of plastic with the red sticker, $20) on the driver door.

Other info:
It's got roughly 150,000 miles, and is salvage title from transmission theft. The tires in the pictures will not be included with the car, it will have the normal salad shooter rims. Its been a daily driver since I bought it with only 1 day of downtime when the ignition coil went out. I'm selling it because the combination of insurance and gas mileage (I average 18.5-20 MPG city, no highway driving) is rather expensive for me (I'm 19), and I really want a manual trans. I've already lined up a '98 V6 manual that I'll be getting as soon as I can sell this. I love the car but I need the money for other things.

Anyone can PM me or post with questions or to ask for more pictures, I'd be glad to walk out and snap a few more for you of exactly what you want to see. Its in Orem UT area if anyone wants to take a look or a test drive.

There is a limit of 10 images, but you can grab all of my pictures here:

Not trying to offend you but, realistically you would be lucky to get 2000.00 for it..it has over 150,000 miles, needs an opti, and according to you it has the wrong trans, plus a salvage title...G/L with your sale

Nadaguides.com puts rough trade-in, which includes salvage title, not passing inspection, barely/not running, at $2600. Mine runs and is streetable, I wouldn't go lower than $3k taking into account what I've put into it already.

Its not entirely the wrong trans, its still a 4L60E, its just not the right year...
