1996 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 M6 - Black/Ebony
1996 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 M6 - Black/Ebony
SOLD SOLD
Price: $5500
Location: Columbia, MO
1996 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6, factory Ram Air, fully optioned with T-tops and a 6-speed manual. The car has 130k miles although the only thing left original is the paint and transmission. I have a huge folder full of all my receipts, and documentation of every oil change, modification, and repair. It is being sold with factory high-polished WS6 wheels.
Some of the modifications include: honeycomb tail lights, full rear suspension, Ford 8.8 rear end with mini ladder bar setup, Moser axles, 4.30 gear, complete ebony interior, Summit seats, new lightweight carpet, McLeod clutch, Pro 5.0, A/C & P/S delete, rebuilt bottom end (15k), Comp XE 230/236, strong valvetrain, stainless longtubes, CSR ewp, and much more. I can go into further detail for someone who is seriously interested.
This car is immaculate. Ive taken great care of it. I spent $7k over the past winter just on parts. I've sold my house and no longer have a garage for it, and sold my daily driver, so I have been daily-ing this car. Its unpractical for me to be driving every day... belongs at the drag strip or a car show. Not that fun to drive on a daily basis in 100+* weather. It weighs 3100# without a driver.
Transmission needs a rebuild soon. 2nd and 3rd grind going into gear, while it will get stuck in 4th.

Re: 1996 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 M6 - Black/Ebony
i am interested but i would like to make it a little more practical. im guessing the ac and ps can be replaced and a little better driving gear? is there anything else that reduces the drivability drastically?
Re: 1996 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 M6 - Black/Ebony
To replace the A/C you will have to get an HVAC box along with all of the lines and components. It does still have heat/defrost. For power steering you can go back to a factory accessory bracket or get a relocation bracket available aftermarket. The 4.30 gears are not bad. 70mph on the highway in 6th gear is ~2150 RPM. It has no muffler or cats and has very snappy throttle response... but runs and drives great. Cruise, CD player, etc all work.
