1987 Trans Am w/ 4th Gen Leather (10 pics)

I'm trying to find out if there is any interest in my 1987 Trans Am w/ 4bbl 305. 102k miles. The car is black with gold ground effects. T-Tops and weatherstripping are in excellent condition. I've bought the gold GTA style 16x8 wheels for it and recently put on new Fuzion ZR tires. Wheels are in great shape. No curb rash. I bought the Formula hood and had it painted. It is on the car, and I no longer have the stock hood. I prefer the look of the Formula hood.

The engine has 102k miles and runs just fine. Only a small puff of white smoke when you start the car in the morning. If you start the car any other time after you've been driving it, you won't see any smoke. Great oil pressure and runs about 195 degrees when warmed up. There is a switch to manually turn on the electric fan. I had the A/C recharged with R12 freon last fall and it blows cold. Heater works just fine too. 2.73:1 Axle. Car was aligned when new wheels/tires were put on. Drives perfectly straight.

Here is a picture, and the rest are below:

I'd rate the interior a 9.2 out of 10. No rips in the seats.

- 4th Gen Charcoal Grey Leather Power seats.
- Headliner is nice and tight, does not droop down
- A-Frame Dual Pod Guage Pillar with Digital Readout Tach and Air/Fuel Mixture
- Digital Dashboard. All guages work just fine. Great shape.
- Sony CDX-F5710 Head Unit
- New Front and Rear speakers
- Everything works on the overhead console except for the crappy flashlight that comes in it.
- No cracks in the dash
- Digital A/C Heater Controls
- Custom black floor mats with the matching gold eagle symbol. Has the words "Trans Am" written under the logo.
- New electric hatch pull down assembly
- Brand new fog lights with the 100watt halogen bulbs
- All exterior parking lights and headlights work just fine
- 20% tint on the side windows and 5% on the back hatch
- Flowmaster 80 series muffler with new pipe up to the CAT.
- Extra T-top for the right side
- K&N Air Filter
- Just renewed the tag
- New Master Cylinder

Looking to get about $3000

Its a nice looking car, but there are a few things that need fixed.
also,
Its carbed, not FI.
It has gage pods, to me that means its been raced.
it has the wrong hood, wheels, and seats (this may just be me, but i am particular about these things).
102k on the clock.

when I saw this I was thinking 2000-2500 range.

Read the rules buddy:

"2) NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT IS FOR SALE? DO NOT POST IN THE THREAD
If you have no intention of buying what is being offered, then you have absolutely no business posting in the thread the item is being sold in. Giving someone a hard time because their price is too high, etc. is not your place if you weren't at least going to make an offer on what is being sold.

"No one wants a really clean Trans Am?"

Hes asking why no ones interested. I gave him some feedback why he may not be getting any interest in his ad.

That being said, I am interested in what he has for sale, and if he is interested in my counter offer I would contact him and look at the car.

Go get **** and stop trying to be a board ****.

Re: 1987 Trans Am w/ 4th Gen Leather (10 pics)

I do appreciate Gridlock's comments. I would be asking the same questions if the roles were reversed. I put the guage pod on the car as soon as I got it. I hate the stock tach that has those little bars. I just wanted a digital readout. I don't even have the air fuel mixture gauge hooked up (also heard they are worthless except for a light show)

For the hood, I've had an 89 GTA before this car and have always wanted a formula hood.

Regarding the wheels, Yes, they are the incorrect ones. They are the 16x8 GTA wheels instead of the 15x7 stock ones. I just appreciate the nicer wheels on it. The original wheels were pretty crummy.

I still have the original seats in my garage. You can see them here: http://www.webpimp.net/seat1.jpg

They are fairly nice seats, but the passenger side had a rip where the cloth meets the vinyl and I found some nice leather seats out of a 96 Camaro to replace them. Heck, seems like everyone is looking for nice 4th gen leather seats for the car. I consider them a nice upgrade over stock. Same with the wheels. Just trying to make it look sharp.

I challenge someone to find a nicer kept interior than this one. And yes, the car is carb'd and the weakest output V8 they put in them for 1987. A whopping 170hp I believe. I do have a 350 4 bolt roller block in my garage that is partially built up, but I'm selling that too. I'm just wanting to get the Infiniti G35 to replace this. I already have a 93 vette with a 383 mated with a 6 speed that hauls butt.

So, what do I win?

Seriously though , $3K is a decent price for the car. I sold my 86 Trans Am for $5K and it was not put together, had no seats, tranny was sitting on the pass side floorboard, and the car needed a paint job really bad.
here is a pic with my brothers seat in there temporarily
