1968 Camaro with a 1969 302 (Drag race car)

1968 Camaro with a 1969 302 For Sale.
The car is a full drag race car, it's located in Daytona Beach, Florida. Asking $13,000 OR BEST OFFER. The car comes with a flat open trailer and stock parts listed below. See link for more information. http://www.sunsplashnursery.net/camaro.html

1968 Camaro

Body:
Tuned for drag racing. Most un-needed items removed, saved, and placed in storage. (seats. inner fender-wells, door window glass, hood, etc.) VFN Fiberglass front end (easily removable) and securely installed and tested at 124 MPH. Front coil springs were cut to lower the front body closer to the ground to allow more upward travel for proper weight transfer to rear wheels at launch.

Not Tubbed.
Rear quarter panels were removed and new (GM-factory/Scott) replacements ordered. The new replacement quarter panels were cut (like a + sign) into 4 sections. 2 inch strips were cut from the original quarter panels and welded into the center area of the "+" cut sections. Therefore, creating a larger original fender with intact factory "lines." The larger fender was then shaped/strechted (pulled outward) and welded back to the body to accommodate full 12" slicks completely under the fender to comply with NHRA rules. ( The stock Camaro rear fenders when viewed from the rear do not stick out as they do on a Corvette. The Corvette fenders stick out to much. Hips are too wide. Camaro did not stick out enough, Hips were to narrow. The hips on my car look great. Not too wide, not too narrow.

The body clearance for both outer and inner edges of the tire is minimal and it is extremely important to maintain correct and accurate tire pressures or tire rub would occur as the tire expands from fast rotation (124MPH!). The tires have been run as low as 8psi and as high as 15psi. 15psi is the maximum pressure prior to rub!!! 13psi has given the best times. The aluminum rims have holes for tire screws but screws were never used.

The body is 95+% rust free. The floor pan is in good shape except for 2 attempts of the drive shaft trying to pierce through after drive shaft failure prior to the bullet proof drive shaft being installed. The car was and is equipped with a drive shaft ring safety device per NHRA rules. Rust areas are the rear top of trunk lid and small area above passenger door. That's it.

Motor:
(Motor was recently freshened with new bearings and head gaskets and has not raced yet)
(All rotating assemblies were critically balanced)
302 cubic inch bored .030 over-size (standard 4-bolt main 350ci block)
Original Chevy factory crank (from 1969 302ci) cut .020" and balanced.
GM Factory high perf "Pink" rods (balanced)
Lunati (custom) domed pistons 12.5:1 compression (balanced)
Crane Cam - Crane Cams (Daytona) sponsored the car. They provided the roller-cam, pushrods, roller rockers, roller lifters, distributer gear, triple valve springs, hi-Perf rocker arm studs, and a stud bar to lock them all together. Cam Specs - Lift intake and exhaust @ .630" - valve settings .020" both intake & exhaust - hot. RPM range 5500-8250.
GM Factory (new) "fast burn" aluminum heads customized to accept triple spring setup - ported and polished.
GM Factory "fast burn" high-rise intake (matched to flow potential of heads and engine RPM. Ported and polished and mated to heads.)
Demon Carb - fully tuned by dyno testing
K&N air filter
Tuned headers
Electric water pump (switch controlled)
No fan belts or pulleys of any kind
Electric fan (switch controlled)
Aluninum Radiator (In Florida summer heat your good for 1 run and back to the pits to cool down. No cruising around.)
Electric Fuel pump (high capacity/ regulated) (switch controlled)

Chassis:
Straight
Original Disc brakes rebuilt by Vette Brakes of Tampa (new replacement set also)
12 bolt rear end spooled with 5.86:1 ratio (!!) mated/tuned with tire size and motor RPM and Trans gears
Heavy Duty axles
Heavy Duty Drive shaft
Electric front brake switch to lock front brakes
Original fuel tank

Transmission:
TCI automatic. Customized 1st, 2nd, 3rd, gear ratios to match with RPM potential, rear gear and tire size. New clutches! 8" torque covert with 5500 RPM stall speed setting. (are ya brave enough to hold 'er down and let go?) Bullet proof bell housing as per NHRA rules.

Misc:
All tires are new and ready for full season of racing. Motor and Trans were also refreshed and ready for full season of racing.
Dedenbear delay box with studder control and launch button.
Tach is extremely accurate with shift light and Rev Limiter (multiple chips). Shifter works flawlessly.
Car with fuel (1 run) no driver weighs 2850 lbs. Perfect weight for driver would be 130lbs. If driver weighs more then, the difference in weight is to be added inside rear trunk area to keep the front end balanced on launch. Car easily pulls front wheels off ground on launch therefore drivers weight and additional weight compensation is VERY important to prevent to much aerial activity.
When viewed from rear car leans on passenger side due to dual batteries mounted on extreme passenger side of trunk. When driver sits in car, car is level.

Car has been dyno tested see report. All runs throughout the history of the car have been video-ed and documented. Best run was 10.91 seconds @ 124MPH with heavy driver and in Florida heat. Car runs consistent 11.0 runs in Florida heat. With driver under 180lbs and in cool weather the car would run in the 10's no problem and that is with a 302ci and automatic trans!!!!!

This is the fastest 302 in Florida!
