1967 Camaro Project
1967 Camaro Project
I sold my 95 last year for this car. I dont' regret doing it but have learned that me and restoring cars don't get along. Would rather trade, but would sell outright my 67 Camaro project. 327/210 powerglide car. Car was driveable in December 2008. Clean NC title in hand.
The bad:
The car has rust in both quarters around the wheel lip. The passenger quarter was cut off by the previous owner and he cut an inch or so too high into the roof skin. I still have everything he cut off and a decent welder/body man could put it back together with almost no filler. It also has rust around the front windshield channel at the roof. This can be fixed without an entire roof skin. One door has rust in the door frame and the other has a small rust hole in the skin, but the frame is good. It may need a passenger fender and will definitely need a passenger inner fender. I bought the car completely apart sitting on a body cart.
The good:
The car is completely apart and you can see exactly where the small amounts of rust are. Do a little research on first gens and find out about the rust issues, this one is almost rust free. The previous owner that took it apart drove it in his garage as a complete car in December 08. I bought it March 09. With the exception of a small spot of surface rust under the pedals, the floors, trunk, framerails, and rockers are perfect. I have a NIB Goodmark full quarter for the passenger side and a Goodmark 80% skin for the driver's side along with both wheelhouses. I have another door to replace the rusted one. Also, this car has the numbers matchingengine (apart), trans, and rear. I also have loads of documentation including receipts and the all important protect-o-plate. All Vin and cowl tags are in place. This car was bought new not 10 miles from my house and has been in this area 90% of it's life. This is a local NC car. It has all new suspension rebuilt with a Hotchkis front suspension which includes front springs (1" lowering) and swaybar. Has a brand new prothane polyurethane bushing kit installed. Also has new in box KYB shocks. The subframe has been stripped and painted when the suspension was installed but will need touching up in places due to transport. I have boxes and boxes of parts that go with the car including 95% of the original parts (even down to the original radio) as well as a new front end hardware kit, brake lines, and I may even have new fuel lines. The only original parts I know are missing are the door panels, carpet, and headliner. I also have all glass except the windshield.
I don't have the time or energy (not counting money) to put this car back like it deserves to be. All parts are there to put this car together as a roller. $5000 firm. Email ncsu6022000@yahoo.com. Bring an enclosed trailer. Thanks for reading!

my dad is very interested, he's not buying any more cars, but he wtold me he would be glad to trade his 86 monte carlo ss thats set up for show. he has been listing it for 10k cash so its a steal on your end if you're looking for a completely custom street rodded Monte Carlo
Thanks for the reply.....I'm not really interested in a monte carlo. I'd love to get my hands on another f-body, preferably an LS1. I wouldn't mind a nice CJ-7 either, so if you run across one of those let me know. I've had alot of interest, but no one's come forward with any cash. If his car sells, PM me and we'll talk!
I have a 1994 auto z28 that I have been working on. Its in great shape and drives excellent. 89k needs paint, a rear 1/4 repair and the driver seat bolster is ripped and the dash is cracked as always, but its solid and drives like its new. I never planned on getting rid of it but I would give ANYTHING to get my hands on what you have there. I can't believe you have it all waiting to put together. Its PERFECT for me but I don't really have much $$. Its been car of my dreams since I saw my first one when I was little.
I know exactly what you mean, my dad had a 69 for a long time when I was growing up and I've always wanted one. But I bought one, and then life set in. I'm 30, have a 19 month old son, work 40-50 hours a week, and on top of that the car is at my father-in-laws garage about 30 min from my house. I just don't have the time. These cars have priced themselves out of my range, I can't afford to take it to someone and say here, fix it. Gotta do it myself to afford it, and I just don't have the time.
Just out of curiosity, I've got about $3000 worth of extra parts I'm selling separate. Interested in trading the 99 in your sig for the car and all the parts?

OH i was thinking the 6k took the car and parts! So its 9,000 all together? thats closer to what my 99 is worth to me
hmm.. idk, i have a lot invested in that car. maybe if I took some parts with me, like the wheels and koni's and the a arms. (what i can swap to my 94) I just put in new koni's and full tubular upper and lower a arms. It also has weld in triangle subframes, and rear control arms with brackets. about the only suspension that hasnt been done is the tq arm and springs. It also has a nearly new Lq9 408 in it and new rear end gears (because the 408 ripped em up). It needs a new clutch because a stock ls6 vette clutch doesnt cut it. right now i'm having an issue with the body control module or the ignition switch i have not narrowed it down yet. Its not a 100% complete car. I have "planned" on lots of things but like you said time takes its toll and these ls1's are expensive. I've been wrenching on this thing for 5 years, i bought it when i turned 19 as a graduation present
I would do a straight trade but we would have to figure out how to get that thing and all its pieces all the way to oklahoma with minimal financial impact on me. Its one of those deal like you are in, its worth WAY more to me than it is on blue book or than i have spent. But hey I will let my baby go for my dream car. If you can think of a good way to keep transport costs down (like the max i can afford is around 800 bucks which might be enough to get my car to you) then I am seriously interested. maybe each party is responsible for getting their car to the other?
edit: my dad has two other cars he has collected and now wants to get rid of, both are for trade or sale: 1950 ford custom with original flat-head 8v and matching numbers. black, very clean wins shows on occasion. the other is a 1950 dodge meadowbrook 4dr with flathead straight 6. also is flawless shape for an old car. it was repainted a long time ago but still looks excellent, interior is flawless. Both run and drive like new and are priced in that range. he wants 8k for the dodge and 9k for the ford

the retard at the tire shop flared the fender just enough to make it touch the door when open. I found out the first time a passenger got in the car and we heard it snap. you can see the chunk of fender missing in the pic. The wheels won't come with it, I have factory 5-spokes that look like the zr1 wheels, or decent shape salad shooters with lots of tread. Can't find the shift boot and the ashtray is broken.
pics are just after konis and oem springs, but you would be getting it with eibach lowering springs and 90k mile bilsteins which brings it down pretty low to the ground. the exhaust is really bad because of hte lowering issues, had a LOT of scraping to and from the shop, the slp dual dual was damaged too much, so i rigged some old cherry bombs to the collectors.
