1983 Chevrolet Camaro
The car is a Berlinetta. I bought the car last winter and decided to put a new motor in the car. It had a stock 305 sbc in it but was oringinaly a 6 cyl car. Insurance for me is 70 a month for full coverage, which makes it real nice. The body its self has only 50k original miles but does have some rust bubbles on the fender wells and around the window but they are really not to noticable. The car is extremely clean for an 83. The door locks are shaved. The car has a few blemishes on the exterior who ever painted it put a thin coat of paint on it so it has a few chips.
Modifications Include:
Suspension
New Eibach Pro Kit springs ~ lowers car 1.3” for improved handling/looks front with stock springs on back with spring helpers - Lakewood struts/shocks ~ 70/30 and 50/50
New OEM Idler arm - New OEM tie rods - New OEM ball joints - Energy Suspension sway bar bushings--Polyurethane - Lakewood lower control arms - Lakewood Panhard rod - New OEM complete rear drums Exterior
Exterior
4" Harwood cowl hood - Race Yellow paint - Black engine compartment just redone when installed the motor - Tinted windows - New head/tail lights Weld Draglites with BFG's on back 325-60-15 and Skinnies up front 195-50-15 with maybe 5 passes
Interior
ALL BLACK interior trim - ALL Black carpet - New black Headliner - Leather Sail panels to match seat ~ Perfect contrast! - Power door locks - Hornet Alarm w/keyless entry - B@M short throw shifter. All billet aluminum - Grey and black racing seats. Sound System - Pioneer 45watt/4 CD Player - 2 New Pioneer 400watt 5-way 6x9’s - 2 New GM 4x6’s in dash
Motor
Built 355 sbc balanced and blue printed, is about all i know about the motor. I bought it off a friend that had built it, it came out of an 80 camaro that ran high 11s. He has about 5000 wrapped up in the motor and it has only 6 passes at the strip and the occasional driving around town. It runs two edelbrock 650 carbs, edelbrock performer intake, pete jackson gear drive. dart iron eagle heads, the cam has 600 lift, 312, duration from what he told me, lopes real nice, i will get the receipts from my buddy that way i can know what exactly is done to it. It has brand new energy suspension motor mounts. Brand new starter and one plug alternator from J and G Electrics. Heddman Shorty Style Hedders with y-pipe with Hooker Super Comp Cat back exhaust measures 3".
Drivetrain
I have installed a t-5 tranny that is rebuilt with new syncros ect. The rear end is the stock 7.5 10-bolt with 28 spline axles, locker type lsd, 3.73 gear.
I may have forgot a few things but i am pretty sure i covered it all. I just don't have the funds anymore to put money into the car.
The car went 12.60 @ 108 with more left in it
