i installed one in my 95 z but it was no prob cause there was one already in it but i think they installed a thing that clips to the old plug that went into the old radio and converts it to the few wires that you need you get me? So check into an install kit with a clip/extension or converter whatever you wanna call it and itll make your life way easier.

OK after a quick search you should check into a radio wiring harness such as this.....

I didnt see it for the camaro but im sure someone makes its cause i have one in my car. And my bose sub play along with the rest of my audio components same as stock.

There shouldnt be any issue with plugging up your standard 88+ GM radio harness to the radio and have it play.

Possible problems:

1. You have the bose system and the amp(s) arent powering up.
2. You have a speaker grounding out therefor no sound or intermittent sound
3. The channels in the radio are bad (unlikely)

Pull the radio and touch the positive and negative speaker wires to the positive and negative terminals on a 9V battery. If the speaker being tested pops, the speaker and wires to it are fine. Repeat for all. If one doesnt respond, its bad or grounding out (wire/terminal on speaker touching metal/ground). This will work only if there is no bose amplifier in which case you'll have to test after the amp or bypass it if need be.

A few posts up someone mentioned a pink wire for amp turn on/remote. I've never run across this in an F-body and read that our amplifiers are voltage sensing as I only hooked up remote through my radio harness for my bose and all worked fine until I gutted my entire sound system and redid it all. However this pink wire can be found and must be hooked up on late 90's+ GM trucks. I'd verify everything is good between the radio and speakers first and then go from there.

Where in wisconsin are you im in Northen Illinois and can help you out... I installed pro for 2 years plus a ton of other knowledge... sounds like your amps arent turning on, the remote from your radio needs to be connected to the ampturn on in the factory harness

I had the same problem in my 1994 Camaro. What you need to do is go to Walmart and for 18.00 you need to get a thing called a Speaker Level Converter (FAI-3). It is made by Scosche. If the wiring diagram in the package still doesnt work, I have a diagram for it. If you want it just let me know your email. Or you can go to Best Buy and pay $40 for the same thing with the same problem. Hope this helps you out if not let me know. Ive been through this same headache.
