XM in my new 2002 SS

They were having a special on the Pioneer RF modulated XM systems for $199 w/ free installation and a $50 rebate for current XM customers so I had it installed in my '02 SS.

My question is - does anybody else have this and where did you mount the control pad. Right now I have it mounted right below the heater/air controls - but I have a 6 speed and really can't see it when shifting or crusing in 3rd or 5th gear.

Also, I got the glass mounted antenna and i'm not sure that I like the looks of this. Is there anything small perhaps that could be mounted inside or just use the factory antenna for this?

Chris,

I honestly don't know a thing about XM. There are several guys on the ls1 audio forum with experience in this particular area. Maybe you could try over there. TTT for ya

I contacted Terk Antenna about laying an antenna in the hatch area, under the glass. They said the signal from the satellite will penetrate glass, plastic, and fiberglass, so I think having the antenna inside the car, in the hatch area will work.
