Worth it to change CD player?

Hello, I'm a car audio newbie.

I have the Monsoon system in my car, and was wondering if changing the stock head unit to a Kenwood Excelon unit will make any difference in sound quality.

I know that I can use the built in EQ for sound shaping, but will changing the head unit improve the sound quality in any way?

Thanks

The only thing you'll really be gaining is a much more reliable HU. The POS Monsoon HU has proven time and time again that it is not a dependable unit and will crap out on you sooner or later. More likely sooner. There is no real "weak link" in the POS Monsoon system. The entire thing sucks. The HU begins to clip it's output WAY too early as you turn up the volume. The amp is a cheaply made, WAY over rated (power wise), distortion generator and the speakers are below par as well. You'd be much better off replacing the entire thing.
