Wiring amp

I've got a quick basic question for you guys...

I want to add an amp and sub to my factory stereo. I just want to verify if it's OK to wire it like this... I have a high level speaker converter (to change speaker wire to RCA's). Can I just tap into my back speakers for the output. I know if I run them in Parallel, that will drop the impedance to 2 ohms. Correct? Can the factory deck handle this? Or is there something with the convertor that prevents this from happening?

Also, I'll find out for myself soon, but can you put a 12 in the cubbie hole and the driver side of the car? I would still like to store t-tops back there...

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

The input impedance of your LOC is very high. When you tap into your speaker wires it won't lower the impedance much at all. Nowhere near enough to worry about.

If your car has the POS Monsoon system be sure to tap into the speaker wires BEFORE the POS Monsoon amp. NOT after. The POS Monsoon amp rolls off the bass as you turn up the volume.

Yes, you can get a 12" in the cubby hole. You'll have to have a custom made enclosure made though. There are only 10" enclosures available on the market. Subthump should have what you're looking for.
