Exclamation Whistling Noise

I have the damn whistling noise coming from my speakers in my truck that goes with the RPMS. I know it's because of the cables being run on the same side of the truck to the amp, but is there something that I can wrap the cables in or something that will eliminate it?

there are a couple things you could do to fix the alternator hummm you are hearing through your speakers.

1-> Like you said the power wires need to be ran on the opposite side of the car as the speaker wires.

2-> You can buy an inline stereo interference reducer (not sure what it is called). It basically wires in behind the radio HU and cleans up the audio signal. I had to use one of these before and it completely eliminated the interference noise that I had.

3-> You probably could wrap the wires up. The only thing I see with this is that the wires are already wrapped in insulation that is probably better than what you would be able to wrap them with. Plus the more you wrap them the thicker they get and the bigger the bulg under your carpet will be from them. So I guess the only thing here is that you could give them extra wrap of some kind and hope it helps out a little.

Hope these ideas help and maybe someone else has some better ones for ya!!

I think you need some Isolators. Just go to any local shop and ask for em. They plug into your RCA's and make a huge difference. I had that same problem with mine. If the car was off it was fine. On was a different story till I got the Isolators.

Yeah I'll have to check out the isolators. The amp and everything is wired through the passenger side of the truck since thats where the amp is. It's an extended cab truck, so it would be more trouble than its worth for me to rewire it all. Thanks guys.
