JL Audio makes good subs. There's better out there but for the price I dont think they can be beat. I've got a single 10w3 in a sealed box and it hits very hard for what it is. I had a friend with two 12w6's in his car and it would rattle your organs.

Re: Whats some good subs?

Look in todays world of electronics most all subwoofers are of decent quality but, if you are willing to spend the extra dollar I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend kicker solo-barics. Now they are square and expensive but they will hit hard enough to hurt you're ears. I run a single 12" solo-baric off a KX1200.1 mono amp and I'll tell you what, I can out bump almost anyone without a comp. setup. Plus, with kicker the power they say is the power you get. If they rate an amp at being able to run 1000watts cont. that's what it'll do. Alot of these other companys over rate their stuff which can result in ruined equipment. I recommend kicker but go with what you like, and not to mention the square subs just look cool and unique.

Personally above all the ones listed, I'd go with either an Resonant Engineering XXX, or Adire Brahma.

Personally I run a pair of 10" Brahmas in sealed enclosures and they sound unbelieveable.

Re: Whats some good subs?

I agree on JL's (12W7, 12W6) and Kicker solobarics, they will damage your hearing. Kicker mono amps are nice, produce real RMS, but they have a higher failure rate then, for example JL 1000/1. Hifonics amps are popular budget choise for RMS power > 1000 RMS watts.
So, 2x12W7 + JL 1000/1 =

Edit: I heard a lot of good things about Brahmas, haven't heard them yet in person...
