Arrow What high powered amp?

I'm wanting to get a really high powered amp and connecting 2 good 12's to it. I want something with really good Rms power like 400 and up. Also i'd like it to be under $200 if possible.

For that price, I would search Ebay for the Kicker Kx400.1 or kx600.1 also, the JBL BP600.1

This one seems a good one too. 500W x 2 RMS @ 4 ohms and only $170....that sounds a little low.

Out of the two you linked, I'd go with the Profile...... but then again I wouldn't go with either! Did you search Ebay for the amps I mentioned? I'm telling you, those are the best bang for the buck.

you can run 2 subs off a MONO amp.... That's what a LOT of people do... Including myself... it's called wiring the subs in Parallel/Series....

well, what speakers are you looking at or have? the impedence of the speakers and the impedence the amp can handle is what will determine how to wire things.

2 speakers can be wired to a single channel of an amp by either ways, depending on what ohms you want the amp to see.

Wiring them in series... + of speaker 1 to + of amp, - of speaker 1 to + of speaker 2, - of speaker 2 to - of amp. The amp will see (Ohms of Speaker 1 + Ohms of speaker 2)
Basically with 2 4ohm speakers the amp will see 8 ohms as an example.

Wiring them in Parallel, you connect both speaker +'s to the + terminal of the amp, and both -'s to the - of the amp. THe amp will see (1/what the amp sees=(Ohm 1 * Ohm 2)/(Ohm 1 + Ohm2)
Basically with 2 4ohm speakes the amp will see 2 ohms as an example.

But What speakers are you going to be using? are they single Voice coil, or dual VC? that effects things as well.

I donno yet.....but right now i've got 2 of these 10's. I like them a lot but I think my amp suxs and is holding back their capabilities. Should I buy some 12" subs next then a good matching amp or an amp then matching subs?

2 voice coils is better than 1 right? Also....the lower the load(ohms) on the voice coil the better right.

Does this sub seem good or could I get better? I've got some 10's sorta like that and I like it....but I also don't have a lotta power to it so I don't know how hard they hit or how crisp they sound at high volumes . Those 12's above say:
·2.5" 4-Layer ASV Voice Coil ---- What exactly does that mean?
·Dual 4 Ohm ---- Dual? meaning 2 voice coils???
·2 Ohm or 8 Ohm Operation ---- That depends on how u wire it right?

It all just depends on what amp you are looking at. personally I think the audiobahns are junk. We used to sell them in our store. We have a pile of them in a corner waiting to be shipped back. They all have bad coils or broken tensel leads. No impedance is better than another. In the past you had to get a dual voice coil speaker if you wanted to use big power. Now companies make single coil speakers that take big power. I say look for a 600.1 Jbl like someone else said. Find two 4 ohm or two dual two ohm speakers and rock. For speakers I would look at image dynamics, Jl audio, treo, mmats, cadence and cutting edge just a name a few.

The funny thing is that I have never heard of those till now

Back to wanting a powerful amp(preferably 2 channel bcuz I can always bridge it right?) with high RMS power that I can hook up to 2 12's and having a low load.

Use a mono block for bass. You can run a million speakers off one channel as long as you wire them right. MONO BLOCK. Leave the two channel amps for the highs.
