What do you think of my setup?
What do you think of my setup?
I haven't installed/bought any of it yet, but tell me what you think.:
Dual In-dash DVD receiver with 7" screen
Audiobahn 2400-Watt 2-Channel Amplifier
2 Blaupunkt 12’s
2 Blaupunkt 5-¼’s
2 Blaupunkt 6-½’s
4 1" Mylar semi-dome tweeters
6 Blaupunkt 6"x9 3-way speakers
I'm removing the back seat of my car, and going to build a custom box, with the 2 12's and 2 of the tweeters and the amp in that. And have 4 of the 6X9's in the rear shelve, the other 6X9's I'm putting on the rear arm rest. The 5-¼ and the 6-½'s will go under my dash, in a custom fiberglass molding and the other 2 tweeters are going in the a-pillers... (I'm going to have an extra battery in the trunk to handle the extra load)
So what do you think....?????

Dude, I hate to say that, but stay away from audiobahn if you don't want to constantly fix it under warranty. And how you going to power everything from one 2-ch amp? What is your goals? With so many speaker you better be doing active setup IMHO.
you don't want that many speakers....
EDIT: and if you do, you'll want more control than using one amp...and I see the amp is prob for the subs..so you cant even power all that anyway

Depends on your budget. Invest in a good components in front, that's for sure. Go to Tweeter or something and listen to all stuff there. "Best" components is always just a personal preference. Most basic system should look like this: one four-channel amp for front components (mid+tweet+crossover) and rear coaxials. Then one class-D amp to power subs. Instead of 2 amps you can get one 5-channel (MTX, RF, JL, Memphis all make them), but it will have much weaker sub channel then you can get from separate amp. Stick with listed above manufacturers or get and old-school amps and you'll be golden.
yea it really doesn't take much to get good clean sound with volume -- all I have now is components amped, sub amped and one stock midbass (gotta fix this....amp channel for the other is messed up) and it's more than enough for my needs.
not a good mix--custom show/drag car are in two different worlds. plus if you fiberglass and plan on drag racing, torque of racing will eventually cause fiberglass to crack/warp. you should pick one, not both. and more is not always better, especially in your speaker case. KISS -- keep it simple stupid, lol
