What do ya think/ Info
Ok I am looking to do an install in my 68 camaro. I know how to hook everything up but I want to make sure that what I have is a good combo and what I am thinkging in terms of matching is correct.

ok I am thinking that the amp is too much and I am going to save it for the subs a little down the road. But here is my set up. I know that I am going straight to the 6X9 (60w) with the radio (50w), I am trying to decide weither to get a 100w per ch amp for the 4"(100W) and the 51/2(180W) or go straight to the radio with the 4" and just get a 150W amp for the 51/2.
My other quiestion is you want to keep the amp power below the speaker power to keep from blowing them am I right there?? I need to do some other research about what some of the other things stand for. My sterio guy got all this for me and then moved away.
Sorry this is so long also.

Re: What do ya think/ Info
remember that most of these "power ratings" are over exaggerated. a 100x4 amp is actually a 40x4 at normal power. Don't worry about the size of the amp in contrast with the power handling of the speaker unless you more than triple it. a high power amp will produce cleaner, more powerful sound at half gain than a smaller amp maxed out. plus it will run cooler and actually pull less power.
I would consider a brand other than JVC for the head unit, they are notorious for undersized power supplies. they will last 6-18 months before they start cutting out after 30 minutes or so of play, especially with the cd player runnning.
