Using sail woofer wires to power dual voice coils on a sub independently (on Camaro)

I was just curious:

Since the Camaro version of the Monsoon system has 2 wires per SVC woofer in each sail panel; has anyone tried to power a smaller dual voice coil sub around 150wRMS - using a pair of wires per voice coil so that they would be wired independently?

Was just thinking this might be a decent option and easier if someone wasn't looking for mass amounts of bass, and just wanted a smaller 150wRMS or whatever sub in the "stealth" location, etc.

Thanks for any info!

If so, I plan on doing this in the next month or so.... I'll post feedback of course when I do it...

nah, that's actually a thread I started and did the mod there with great results - but I was thinking if someone didn't like the idea of IB sail subs and felt they could get better sound out of pulling both sets of wires (on a Camaro - NOT Firebird) to the rear and using each pair to power one voice coil on a DVC 2 ohm sub around 150wRMS in the "stealth" location/drivers side cubby area in trunk above t-top well.

Only thing I see wrong with this idea is if the LPF woofer channels in the amp are stereo signals...

I'm sure it would work fine, just as long as the two signals are mono coming out of the Monsoon amp like you stated. I don't think you would want to feed a DVC sub stereo inputs....lol

It would be interesting to see what it would sound like compared to the stock "subs" though. You would need a sub that wasn't power hungry and pretty sensitive I would think. Something like ID's entry level stuff.....
