tweets in the ac vents

my tweeters are in the ac vents, how much better would they sound near the drivers that are in the doors?

Ideally you should mount them within a foot of the midrange drivers (as close as possible) -- how much better would the sound be? not sure -- do you sense any imaging problems?/do you feel like the sound from the tweeters is reaching your ears at a different time than the midrange components?

common problem in our cars.. the tweeters eventually work their way out and crawl up into the venting -- for this reason, it's best to keep your tweeters on short wires.

they were mounted in the ac vents to hide them, have to look really hard to see them. i've read several times that they should be close to the drivers, how can this be done?

oh -- did your tweeters come with any additional mounting hardware?? it will involve drilling a hold in your door for a flush mount, a small screw for a surface mount...or maybe even really strong adhesive for a surface mount.
