Tweeters mounted in side mirror trim anybody?

Does anyone have their tweeters mounted in the trim that covers the mounts for the side mirrors? Anyone have pics or does anyone mold like a tweeter pod for that location?

I've got my MB Quart tweeters flush mounted in the rear view mirror trim panel locations. Here's a pic:

Visit the link in my sig for more pics and installation instructions of my system.

Hey thats what I'm talking about. How do they sound there? Nice car BTW.
Does anyone know of anyone molding a new trim panel with tweeter mounts in it to kinda angle the tweet toward the seats like in a lot of new imports. My wifes Eclipse GT has the tweets mounted like that in it.

If you checked out my Stereo Installation Instructions page, you saw that I use to have my tweets mounted directly in front of my mid. That made for a very stealthy install, but the soundstage was too low and if I had a passenger riding with me, their legs blocked the passenger side tweet.

The BEST set-up I've heard had the tweeters mounted at the top of the armrest, but I wasn't willing to cut my door panels, so I opted to mount the tweets in the rear view mirror trim panels. I bought a set to cut up from www.speedautomotive.com for $15.

The soundstage is much better than before, but I can tell the mid and tweet are separated...but it's a compromise I was willing to make.

I'm actually very happy with the sound of my system.

As far as making angle mounts. SShevy, the moderator of the Electronics Forum over at www.ls1.com makes and sells custom fiberglass trim panels to do exactly that, so contact him.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I did see your setup on your site. Looks great. Thats why I wanted to bring the tweets up higher also because of the legs blockind the sound. Ill check ou sshevey and see what hes got.
Thanks
