Trying to install new alpine headunit

I have a 97 TA with the monsoon 8 speaker system. I read around the board and decided that im just gonna bypass the amp all together and wire the headunit straight to all 8 speakers.
The thing is that the wire harness only has enough for the 4 speakers in the front and the 2 hatch speakers taht have the 2 tweaters next to them have nothing to connect to on the harness. i was wondering if i could just splice the wires to connect the 2 tweaters to the 2 speakers taht are next to them in the same panel. but then i still have only enough wires to do the front 2 speakers and the 2 mid woofers. so im not sure, can i just join the 2 wires that go to the mid woofers to the 4 back speakers.
thx

on some component type systems the wires will come together somewhere in the wiring (or crossover) either in the door or just before the wiring goes through the kick panel and into the door you can try looking at the wiring there, or just try hooking up the wiring and see if they work, also if you have to rewire the tweeter you might wanna but a bass cap on the tweeter if it doesnt already have some so too much bass doesnt go through and blow it out. most bass caps come in "green, blue, or red" id probably go with a red one if needed.

thanx
i think im gonna do what you said with the bass cap, red one.
but i talked to my friend and he told me to put the 6 speakers including the tweaker as the front signal and and the 2 woofers as the rear so they only get bass like their sposed to.
with that do you think i'll need the bass cap?

DO NOT Wire it that way..

First off the tweeters in the monsoon system are all wired direct to the head unit, the mids and sail woofers are run off the amp. There is a low pass filter on the woofers to get bass only, and the tweeters all have crossovers attached so you dont have to worry about the tweeters.

First off, the 4 midrange speakers are 2 ohm, the deck's internal amp CANNOT handle that low of an impedance, so you will need to replace them with aftermarket 4 ohm speakers. You can then run the factory or aftermarket tweeters parallel off of the wiring for the front speakers. Cut them off past the crossovers so you dont lose them, this will protect the tweeters. You can do the same for the far rear, and then just dont use the sail panel subs.

If you wanted to hook up the subs, you would have to cut the wiring off one of the voice coils, and just run 1 VC to the headunit. This is because as I said before the head unit cannot handle a 2 ohm load. the subs will play full range as you will lose the low pass filter of the amp. This will sound like crap, but it will work.

Your best bet is the following: Toss all the factory speakers. Install nice 6.5 speakers in the front, and hook the tweeters up as i said before if you want (you dont really need em). Put regular 6.5's in the sail panels where the mid woofers are. Cut the far rear speakers off, you dont need them. Then for some bass get a sub in a stealth box and a small amp.

No matter what you choose unless you keep the factory amp, to do this you will need to toss the factory speakers.

Rogue is right.

I would toss everything and start with all new stuff. It will be your best bet and leave you without a major headache!

Good call Rogue!
