Trying to control my ipod using the redundant steering controls
Trying to control my ipod using the redundant steering controls
Anybody know of a way to use the redundant steering wheel controls to control my ipod? I understand the first thing I would have to do is find a car stereo system that allows that sort of thing, but would it be feasible to use the same steering wheel with the car to control the ipod?(not looking for anything too much, just to skip between songs so I don't have to look away from the road while driving)
Peripheiral(sp?) makes a factory interface for your steering wheel controls.
...and if I remember correctly Pioneer and Alpine sell separate modules for their aftermarket headunits to interface with the factory steering wheel controls as well.

Thanks for the reply downshift. I looked at those and decided to do a little more searching so that I could try and find an adaptor of some sort that would allow me to maintain my current factory radio and I found this:

It looks like it allows steering wheel control, charging, and direct line connection without changing out the radio, thus for the time being keeping my car in pristine state. Until of course I can afford to, and feel like, modding the hell out of it.
(leaving the link in case others feel like doing the same)

Cool beans.
The peripheral is cheaper and, IMO, is a better product.
