Sweet System!

Hey Everyone,
Do me a favor and give me your opinion on this system.
Infinity Kappa components in the doors
Infinity Kappa 2 Ways in the Side panels
Infinity Kappa components in the back panels
10" Alpine Type R or Inifinity Kappa Sub in the back unused panel in a Sub Thump box.

Powered by 2 Kicker KX800.4's with 1 Farhad cap to support both amps. 2 channels for the front components and 2 channels for the middle 2 ways.

Then 2 more for the back components and bridge the back for the sub.

Any opinions?

I've found that Infinity Kappas (and Reference) speakers can't handle LOUD midbass. And thats with the high pass filter set at 80Hz @ 18dB/octave.

Re: Sweet System!

Only one thing that I don't see the need for is the back set of components. You might be able to eliminate those. JMO

No back ones?

They have them in the monsoon, i Thought they might help it sound better. you think i should stick with the 2 ways in the middle then?
So...
Components in the front
2 ways in the middle. Any thing more suggested for the middle?
and the sub in the back.
Stick with that then?

Kappas cant handle loud midbass?
What about the Alpine Type R's? Any opinions on those?

Thanks for the replies everyone, youve been an awesome help.

Just because the POS Monsoon has them doesn't mean that they are a good thing. A well set up system doesn't need rear speakers. Except for the subwoofer I don't have any rear speakers at all in my car.

Ditch the components in the back for sure! And the Type R's rock!! Maybe try the Infinity Perfect subwoofer line??? Better sound quality, plus you'll have all Infinity speakers... not that that really matters..... but.......

Type R's or Infinities?

So which do you prefer? Type R's or Infinity Kappa's for the speakers? I dont like ALOT of voice though, I had a set of 3 way pioneers and the voice hurt my ears.

And is 1 Farhad cap enough?

Thanks Again for the replies.

I think the 1 farad cap will be enough. You really only need it for your sub amp and it's only powering a single 10. So what kind of box are you looking at? Milhouse or stealth?

Dont Worry

Dont worry Steve, I'm buying from you alright , Probably a stealth, should i Go with a 12 instead? I want it to hit hard but not like a long hit, I like dance music not rap. I just want to buy a good set of components doesnt have to be Alpine or Infinity, just something that I wont go broke on. What should I Put in the middle ?

Well, a 10 would probably be enough. But I happen to have a passenger side 12" stealth for sale this is cheap if you'd be interested in that.

If you decide to install some mids, they don't need a lot of power. Maybe some kicker midbass or something like that would be adequate.

Type R's vs. Kappa's...... Type R's all the way. They work well is small sealed enclousers. You might want to look into the Alpine components as well. They aren't too shabby. And 1 Farad should be plenty.

OK Sweeter system then

Ok here goes

Apline Type R's components up front

Middle? Alpine Coaxials, Alpine components, or some sort of midrange? Whick do you prefer?

These 2 sets powered by a kicker KX800.4

Then a Sub Thump stealth enlosure on the driver side, with a 10" Alpine Type R sub powered by a KX400.1 at 2 ohms with a 1/2 farhad cap.

Missing anything?

Any suggestions for some better affordable components?

Thanks again everyone.
