Suggest/rate my new system choices..

I'm getting the new SS the way I want to sound-wise.. as soon as I sell my old speakers I'll be digging in.

Here's my plans:

I have my old Pioneer P960MP (link)
Which has my iPod hookup.

I'm trying to get an 10" Kicker L5 (link)

And I can't decide between a Kicker zx 1000.1 (link) or the Kicker zx 750.1 (link)

Which'll be wired up using Knukonceptz.com's wiring, which is hands down the best stuff I've ever used.

Now here's where I need suggestions.. I'm pretty sure the components that came in the SS are shot, the tweeters are crackling and popping and just all around nasty. I've used Elemental Designs 6500's, which I was NOT a fan of, especially for a steep 250$ pricetag. Can someone suggest me a good mid-range budget-wise set of components, that are going to sound good but not break the bank, as well as an amp to power it?

it is such a bad idea to suggest someone a "good " set of speakers.......everones tastes are different....why dont you go to an audio store and listen to speakers and decide 4 yourself?

Because speakers sound alot different sitting on a wall, in an open enviroment. I don't have picky tastes, so I'm looking for a recommendation of those who have used speakers in the exact setting I plan to put it in with good success. Plus we have very little high end stores, the only place I can go to try them out would be Circuit City, Best Buy, or Tweeter.. not exactly high end.

Honestly I've never been to Tweeter, I always assumed it was along the same lines as BestBuy. If they have good sets of components that would definitely be worth a shot.

The 750.1 will be more then enough amp they are way under rated to begin with. Im suprised you didnt like the 6500s I heard them once, but have used the new 6000s in a few cars and loved em. I also am a huge fan of the polk db components deff a more budget component. Polk MOMOs are nice also check out CDT CL-61s. For an amp there are so many choices. Specifics on the amp and maybe a price range. Sounds like you are headed down the right path though

Budget really isn't a problem, I just want something thats gonna work down the road. I like to listen to my music loud, and I'll have to hear it over the exhaust and windows/t-tops off. I've had problems with components having really raspy and intrusive highs that I'm trying to avoid.

I plan to, off the same 4 channel amp. I *believe* there's some components back there, too.. but I haven't taken the grilles off yet so I'm not sure.

That definitely looks good! I'll be picking one of those up, I'll be hard pressed to find a better deal I bet.

Are those what I'm looking for? The swivel tweeter looks like a badass feature to me, as well as the onboard crossover.. so I won't have to deal with too complicated of the wiring.. right?

you can go with those or the mmc5250 which has the seperate tweeter and crossover. the ones u linked would deff be easier to setup and honestly prly much easier to put in. 6.5's though for the camaro not 5.25s, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-SmFFEvX...00&I=107MMC650 for the coaxials and http://www.crutchfield.com/S-SmFFEvX...0&I=107MMC6500 for the components. Power handling is more on the components but i think even with the coaxials you will be fine. Depth for the back might be semi tight but you should be fine with a small spacer. Also plan on putting a lil but of sound deadening in the car behind the frt speakers and rear speakers.

That sounds good.. I'm weary of full components just because I've had some bad luck getting them "just right", I'm sure I'll be happy with an out of the box setup.. especially being complimented with a good subwoofer setup
