subwoofer wiring?

ok, so i have a kicker kx600.1 amp that is rated at 600 watts at 2 ohms, and 300 at 4. I kinda have an idea about ohms, but not that much. I also just got a l7 solobaric, that is dual 2 ohm. It says that both voice coils need to be hooked up and it gives two examples of how to do so. Wired in parallel the sub has a 1 ohm load, and wired in series it is at 4 ohms. Since my amp puts out 600 watts at 2 ohms, which way should i wire it? I would like to be able to use the full 600 watts, but will it hurt anything to have the sub under a 1 ohm load. Like i said, I really dont know anything about ohms, and stuff, so if someone could explain it to me or help me out, i would appreciate it.

If you present the amp a 1ohm load and its not rated for it, it either just wont work or itll severely shorten the life of the amp.

not a good amp/sub combo...since you only have one sub, you are limited to a 1 or 4 ohm impedance that the amp will "see"...

Unfortunately your amp is only stable down to 2 ohms. You make it seem like if your wording that if you wire it at 1 ohm, the sub will get 600 watts -- however that is the power at 2 ohms -- at 1 ohm the amp would try to produce more than 600 watts where it isn't stable and will more than likely fry shortly.

Get rid of the sub and buy one with dual 4 ohm voice coils. Wire the coils in parallel for a 2 ohm load and then you'll be getting the most from your amp.
