I'm helping a friend set up a system, we'll actually fix his current system that I setup for him 2 years ago. It appears that his sub blew, so were looking for something as good or better to replace it. The system consisted of an kenwood excelon head unit, a rockford fosgate 500bd amp and fosgate punch hx2 15". The amp makes 500 watts rms at 2 ohms 1000 peak. He's wanting either a 15" or 18" sub to replace it with, I belive his main wants with system is spl, but he doesn't want to completely sacrifice sq. Anybody have any suggestions for a replacement that will be as loud if not louder.

 

Even though I'm sure I'll get flamed for making this recommendation ...have him check out the Kicker L7...I've seen one make a windshield wiper jump off the windshield...now I'm sure there's others that can do that...but just listen too them...can't hurt

if u want some serious shiet, go look at the w7's WOW those magnets are huge and they have excellent quality. although they are expensive as heck and i couldnt afford any the top of the line rockford fosgate POWER HX2's are really beefy too
