Subs With T-tops??
Subs With T-tops??
My girlfriend's camaro has t-tops and she was wondering what her options were on putting subs in. She doesn't want to put a box in the back hole because she want to be able to put her t-tops in there. So is that stock sub that comes in some camaros on the driver side back any good? Let me know what you think..
Re: Subs With T-tops??
A stealth box on one or both sides should do the trick.
One of the best out there is the one made by Megabass, available at www.subthump.com

How do you cut the plastic pieces in the back where the bow goes?? I have one of the side that came on teh camaro with the factory sub and it has a opening that looks like it would work.. will that work?

Very few factory systems are decent, and even fewer factory subs. I would not use one.
Re: Subs With T-tops??
On the back side of the trim panel I used masking tape to layout where I wanted to make my cut. Once I did that I used a utility knife with a new blade in it to cut along the edge of the tape. I ran the blade along the edge of the tape over and over slowly cutting thru the plastic with each pass. Go slowly on your first pass with the knife. Once you have the line started it will help keep the blade on line to make a nice neat cut.
EDIT: I just wanted to mention that I used several layers of masking tape. This gave me a nice clean edge to run the blade along to make my cut. The first cut was very light just to score the plastic. Once the plastic is scored it's easier to keep the blade in the cut line as you make each pass with the knife.
