Stock CD Changer - Changes Tracks Overnight by itself?
Stock CD Changer - Changes Tracks Overnight by itself?
Okay... so I turn off my car to retire for the night... It's on disc 8, track 2, two minutes into the song "Roll out."
I wake up in the morning, turn on the car, it's on disk 8, track 7, half way through "In the end - Linkin Park".
Whats up with that? It happens frequently! It doesnt even have to be overnight, just long enough for me to go into the mall, and when I come out, it resumes the wrong song!
Strange, eh? Anyone else have this problem?

I have had several CD changers (Sony, JVC, and Jeep Factory) and have never had this problem before. There should be a memory chip that "remembers" the location when the power is turned off. Not sure why it wouldn't "remember" correctly.

All of my 12 CDs are CD-R's, is it a possibility it might have trouble reading it? Makes no sense to me, because it switches fine, etc etc.
And now that the car has almost 5k miles on it, the CD changer is doing it even more rarely. Maybe only 5% of the time now. Very strange!

Well I'm glad to see I'm not going crazy.
I would SWEAR that the CD changer had moved on to a different track, but it never would do it when I remembered what track it was on before.
I'm glad to see it's not just me.
