speakers

Im looking at buying a set of high end speakers for my 95Z. Im am curious if anyone has tried:
1. Boston Acoustics Pro50 or Pro60
2. Infinity Kappa 50.7

crutchfielf says they will all fit, but other online resources say they wont. Does anyone know? Id hate to spend so much on speakers and they not fit. Ill probably buy them off ebay. I have an Orion 400W amp to use with these. I assume Ill have to rewire the speakers from the doors all the way back to the new amp. Is there anywhere I can tap into the stock wiring without using the stock amp?

Thanks

Re: speakers

Have no idea whether these fits or not; most likely will do. I have Bostons RC620 in one car, Eclipse sc8254 (which I like better) in other. Both requered drilling new mounting holes, and that's it.
It's better to run a new, bigger wires to the back. I just reused portion that goes into front doors, being limited in installation time.

Re: speakers

F-body door speakers are 6.75 inches, but 6.5 will work.

Re: speakers

ON another forum i go to, a lot of members use the infinity kappas. i bet if you get a wiring diagram, you can just cut the wires from the monsoon amp, and hook it into your new amp. yeah, everything will be running through factory wire, but it will take less time to hook everything up.

Re: speakers

Does anyone know the guage of the Monsoon wire, going to the speakers? 18/20?? At what point (even with, or because of low power from an aftermarket head unit) does it become imperative, even with fairly short runs (front doors/sail panel only), to use good aftermarket 12 or 10 ga. wires??

Re: speakers

You are definatly not going to need to worry about running 10/12 awg (american wire gauge) wire to just componenets, 16-18g is fine unless you are pushing more then 300 watts rms witch i highly doubt

Thanks again. Is there much difference (if any at all) between the various high end brands of 16 ga. speaker wire (i.e.; Stinger, Memphis, Phoenix Gold, etc.)??
