Speaker Review Thread

Post up your front and rear speakers..

Do you have an amp hooked up to them?? How long have you had them? How's the mid range bass, and hows are the mids in general? Tweet selection?? Did you go with a fiber/fabric tweet instead of metal or vice versa? Overall opinion. what kind of music do you primarily listen to? Would you recommend them?

I've had... I listen to mostly metal.. and I like it LOUD and clear!!

Soundstream Tarantula 6.5's..
I ran a 150 watt amp to these for a long time. THey sounded good w/o the amp but OMG did they wake up w/ the amp!! Talk about a sound quality difference!! THey were soo darn loud, you couldn't stand closer then 2 feet to them when it was cranked or you ears would start crackling!! (I still can't believe how LOUD that was!! AND clear as day!) They'd FLAWLESSLY CRANK Pantera!! THey seem to need an amp. I had them for 3 years and bet the heck out of em.. As soon as I took them amp away, they blew. DAMN GOOD speaker tho!!! OMG!!

Memphis MCSYNC C6 (present)
Nice speakers, but they need an amp. THe mid range is nice, but the tweeter placement is critical. THe crossover doesn't have a tweeter level adjust option, so IMO, The tweets are a bit loud. They distort a bit, but I think it's due to my Head unit being old and the RMS level, which they DON'T LIST.. I am running them off just a HU. (Sorry, can't find a pic)

6.5 Infinity Kappa (Greens) in the read (mid)
12in Infinity Kappa Sub(Greens)

1000W Sony ES amp pushing the sub

Sony CDX-C90 (Either you know the king or you don't)

I will get pics when I get a new camera battery. Also I upgraded my comps up front to the Polk signature reference 6 1/2. If you want the best sounding speakers under $30k, then these are what you want. At steal at $800. Check out the review CarAudioMag gave them.
