speaker noise

speaker noise

i have a 92 rs and i am getting static out of my right side 6x9. since then i went from a kenwood excelon head unit to a sony xplod unit, i also went from a kenwood 3 way 6x9 to a eclipse 3 way 6x9. with any of these combonations i still get static out of this speaker. any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

Check your wires, probably grounded. If not, another thing that causes distortion is if they're too close to other wires and they're "interferring" or whatever the hell it's called. If it's not the speakers I can almost guarantee it's one of those two things. Let me know...

the only other wire that is close to those speakers is the 8 gauge power wire going to the amp for my subs, but that is all the way down under the carpet

Well, if it's not another wire interferring it's gotta be grounded somewhere. Check all the wires behind the deck, then follow the wire to the speakers.
