Speaker connections on 00 SS?
The factory speakers blew on my moms camaro. She is trying to keep it stock (other than the borla exhaust) and garage kept (only has 16k miles
). I was gonna fix them for her but was wondering what kind of connection is it to the front speakers?
In my car I put some aftermarket aiwa speakers in, and I had to splice the wire and retie it with wire nuts. In my last car it had a harness that basically pulled out and 'plugged' back in to the new speakers.
What kind of setup is in the 2000 SS? Just trying to figure out what I should be expecting when I take the door panel off. She will probably want me to put factory speakers back in but Im hoping I won't have to splice the wires at all.
Thanks for any help.

I replaced the front two speakers in my 99 SS. I believe you have to cut the wires and crimp on the snap-on connections that come with the speakers. The front speaker have four wires going to them, factory crossover I guess. It would be best to install component speakers with a tweeter then you can utilize all four wires. The rear speakers all have two wires. If i'm not mistaken they are all 6.5". Good luck.
